Top save people trouble why don't people just buy PC Monitors with Component Input, that way you don't need to worry about HDCP. Most high end 21" and above LCD Monitors have component input. I have a Samsung 2105 BW and it has component/picture in picture/HDCP/Composite/S Video/DVI D and it even comes with built in speaker and passthrough. pimperjonesYou can only get 720P with the component cables on the monitors I think.

Most 21-22" LCD displays only go up to 1680 resolution, which mean you won't get 1080p even if you did hook it up via DVI-D or HDMI. Only 24" monitors and above support Full 1080p resolution. PS3 won't output 1080p resolution unless your display has 1920 and above resolution. Which means you're gonna have to drop a G-note on a 24 incher or drop 2 grand on a 27" Q-resolution diplay.

Actually, many non-1920x1200/1080* monitors can take in a signal of 1080p and then scale it down to their native resolutions. A user named Miguel16 on these boards has a 19" 1440x900 monitor that accepts 1080p and then downscales it. For 1080p native/true, there ARE monitors below a grand. Cheapest is $500-$600 (DELL Ultrasharp, Benq, Gateway: all HDCP and all cheap).

The PS3 will only send an 1080p signal to monitors that have 1920 native res and above. I have tried hooking up my PS3 to my monitor and it won't send any signal over 720p, because it doesn't detect my monitor as a 1080p display.
