When I had my PS3 I had no way to get a ethernet cable connection to my PS3 so I had to play my online games with connection problems and downloads were horrific. Seeing as there will almost definately be a big push on digital content next gen do you think they will make downloads and online play more consistent and faster via wireless connection?

And has there been any sort of spec provided for the wireless card?

Thanks

P.S I live on the 3rd floor of our house with the wireless in the furthest away spot on the first floor

i don't know what sony is doing with the hardware, but they did mention some tricks to get around download speeds. the most promising was that you'll be able to download an early part of a game, play it, and then have the rest of the game download in the background while you're playing. another has the network try to predict what game you'll want based on past purchases, download it automatically, and then you can decide whether you want to buy it or not.

WoW lets u play after a certain point while it continues to download the rest. Probably like that.

they said they are going to improve the speeds but it still relies on your internet connection and sony has no control over that they are how ever going to make it so that you can  download in the background on everything and if you want to play that game thats downloading youll wait for a while and play it itll download the rest when your playing it   ,

From what they said at the conference, they're going to make massive improvements in their online network.  We'll see :)

If you're very far away from your router you might want to think about getting a repeater.  Go over to Newegg and do a search on "repeater".  They've got a variety of them.

many different ways to improve ur wifi connection, but the PS4 wont have the old G 54mbps standard like the PS3 does. The newest at least i would acccept would be dual band N600 at LEAST.
