Sony is going to take a solid hit with price tag of 399.  Paying for PS+ is solid deal if can guarantee personal info security and no extended multiplayer outages. But overall sony knocked it out of the park and i have been using my x360 as main console for years now.  You have to back a winner and PS4 holds that crown.

I agree with your point, but given PS4 is the lesser of two evils I will make an allowance for the paid multiplayer. To be honest PS Plus doesn't bother at all because I only play single player games and don't intend to subscribe. I've owned an Xbox360 since 2007 and subscribed to Live Gold for less than 24 months. PS Plus would annoy traditional PS3 gamers who currently use Sony's free multiplayer network, but at least they're given a choice. You gotta give Sony a break, they've just rescued gamers from a far worse fate!! Plus they are charging less for the console than XBONE.

$49 bucks a year is a tremendous value for what plus offers(or at least has offered). That point of entry for online play is more than acceptable for me. Considering you'll see free content for 3 different platforms that's not too shabby.

Personally, I'm gonna wait until there are more games on the system before I buy one because the launch line-up is thin, perhaps when Infamous: Second Son is released, then I'll see If I can snatch up a Bundle.

Question: I've forgotten if Plus cards stack once redeemed. I'm thinking of squaring away next year by buying a new year-card and redeeming it now. Anyone know?

Thanks for the comments guys I am starting to think even though I do not agree with paying for multiplayer access. It is definitely the lesser of two evils when it comes to xbox one and ps4.

As for stacking PS+ cards I believe it works but not 100% sure.

so basically PS+ money will be used to buy new servers, improving the network.

you have to understand that free service from a company that doesn't have the internet infrastructure Microsoft has (they're the greedy ones asking for a fee when their internet reach is very extensive and they could offer free service with no financial problem to them) would mean very limited possibilities and they paid Gaikai a hefty price to make new things roll, like having PS1/PS2/PS3 games accessible to PS4 and Vita.

They obviously spent a lot already to have all this working and they have to bring money in to continue bringing new things.
