Hi guys is anyone using either? looking for a bit of a speed up, i'd definately consider the SSHD although i've read you get random stutters when the cache is filled for a split second, opinions appreciated

If you can afford it get an SSD I don't think an SSHD would be worth the price over something more traditional that runs at 7200rpm and has 64mb cache. Hell I don't even know if hey are supported by the ps4 so I'd stick with a normal fast disk drive or spend the cash on a decent sized SSD, as you can all ways remove it and use it else where and put the old drive back in.

Supported lol?

The PS3 supports SSD/SSHD and in my case RAID.

If you can afford a 1TB SSD TC, get it.

I read that SSHD not only does not make much of a difference, but in some cases it presents some problems.

SSD increases the speed, but I would simply go with a 2TB HDD =)

if you have the finances, go for an ssd, i have swapped the regular hdd of the ps4 with a 1 tb ssd, the day i bought it (the ssd costed literally an arm and a leg)... the system is very quiet (i only have digital games as well), everything is fast (well at least my friends tell me that it is since i do not know the regular speed of the ps4's hdd), and most probably due to lack of mechanical parts which lead to heat creation i do not hear the system's fan that much if at all...

i didn't encounter any problems with it since december 2013, so it has almost been a year and i am a happy camper... :)

A good price vs performance 1TB SSD would probably be the samsung 840 EVO or 850 EVO (coming out on Dec/26) http://www.custompcguide.net/compare-samsung-850-pro-versus-840-evo-and-840-ssd-series/
