1. Buy an external HDD to plug into the USB port (it must be a USB 3 HDD).
2. You get 10GB online saved game space, you need PS+ to use it.
Are you deleting saved games or deleting games? game saves don't take up much space, games do however.
i'm deleting games. i see, so the external HDD ranges from around $100, correct? thanks so much for this info!
@BabyPulpFiction: $100 seems steep. I got an internal 2TB a while ago for $80. I think the externals are cheaper than internals now.

Yeah $100, but get something large, 4TB or something, it might be possible to use it for next gen as well.
There's no point getting a 1TB and having to upgrade that in a year because you ran out of space.

This is the mistake I made
@GTR12: I know it's not much but how do I access the extra 10 gigs if I have PS+.
There's 2 ways, I prefer the second, its a lot more advanced but its easier to understand what's happening.
1. On the home screen, scroll left, and look for the PS+ icon, go into it, scroll right a few times until you see online storage.
2. Go to settings, storage, online storage, here you can see exactly what's taking up space, if you go back to saved system saved games, you can also press options and upload each individual game save.

That's the reason I splurged on a 16TB external, I haven't even used 4TB yet, and I doubt they will dump USB 3, maybe USB type-c, but I'll get an adapter.
It cost a lot, but I'm set for PS4/PS5.
