Not sure what the issue is but all I am getting is the blue light flicking on for one second, then the whole thing just shuts down. Then, unless I unplug it then plug it back in, if I try to turn it back on there is no response at all. This literally happened within 15 -20 minutes of it working perfectly, so I am completely off as to what could have caused it. Has this happened to anyone?

That is ferociously disappointing considering I brought PS4 because I was still pissed off about red ring. Also, my god-damn game is still in there. Is that just gone now? I'm just gonna assume yes........

There is a fix on youtube, you could try it. I believe it is holding the home button on the controller until it goes into standby mode. Check it out, the video will say it better than I can.

when my ps4 arrived, 1st thing I did was change the HDD… I replaced with a 1TB HDD, then went to start everything up and… black screen and blue light softly blinking...

I started to freak out, thought that maybe the HDD screwed everything up, but in my case the HDMI that came with my unit was FAULTY… switched the HDMI cable (with, surprise, the one I was using with my old 360) and bam, the safe mode screen popped up and I simply started installing the system and everything was good to go….

of all things… the DAMN HDMI cable came faulty, WT..?!

That's exactly what I did. I purposely bought a 7200 RPM 1 TB HDD just for the PS4 I would eventually buy.

Well I actually had a Gamestop warranty so I was able to get it replaced. It was just a little annoying though since I had to wait because they were out of PS4's for almost all of January. One of the dudes that worked there though was actually able to get my game out (after I had already bought a second copy of the same game, but they refunded me). I wasn't there when he did it but they said he essentially just removed the glossy left side, unscrewed the cd drive and just took the game out. So everything worked out I guess.......
