Hi, quick question. How long after you make the donation is the tax supposed to be refunded? Cause I made my donation 4 days ago and still haven't received the $3.25 I was charged in tax back. Is it supposed to be automatic?

Whaaaa? I was charged 35 cents for tax. Do you mean your total came out to $3.25 for a $2 donation?

Noo, I made a 25 dollar donation so the tax was higher. Wanted to make it 50 but because of the tax issue I had insufficient funds. I'm in Canada btw so I'm not sure if that would affect whether I get a tax refund...I'll contact Sony and see what they say.

So I sent them an e-mail and got a response back. They basically just thanked me for donating over PSN, and then went on to say that pricing on PSN varies by region and that Playstation Store content may be subject to applicable taxes by each region, state, county, and/or city and may change periodically as tax rates are revised. Nothing about whether I would get a refund or not, but I'm assuming it's a no -.- Although I appreciate their effect to raise funds for the relief, this will probably be the last time I donate towards anything on PSN.

Its not Sony doing the refund, it just so happens that Sony is the middleman for it... So they get the abuse and bad mouthing for things like this.

I'm not really mad, it's not like it's a lot of money. I just thought it was unfair cause Sony said that they will refund anybody who is charged tax. And yeah, apparently donations are taxed now...on PSN at least, lol.

Next time you make a donation, donate directly to that organization. That's what I do. I donate directly to The Red Cross or whoever when I donate to charities. I know eveyone's heart is in the right place, but I don't donate through a third party organization. I complicates things and sadly sometimes you get people who are tryting to take advatage of the situation.
