What you're suggesting is to bypass the shoddy "under construction" page and go into the PSN where Sony is currently trying to fix and secure their network

So what you're saying is to screw with Sony even more, I will not

From the comments it looks like it will work. But there will only be a handful of people online, and who knows if it will screw something up when PSN does come back up

Why do this at all? Even if there were a good number of people online, it most likely would be wicked buggy. Let Sony fix it completely.
