PSN - not free come 2008 :(

I have heard too many rumours that PSN will be priced come next year. Although I was reassured by Sony that it wouldn't the amount of rumours have gone up100%. I wondered why though because they have released Warhawk which is online only - why would we pay more to play it?What are your opinions on this overpowering rumour?

who cares? go buy warhawk and forget about all that. trust me you won't regret it

Since the anouncement of psn, sony has stated that it would be a free service unlike microsoft xbox live. You can see this in not only part of sony plans for ps3 but for their pc based game community. If you had read recent articles on gamespot, you would know sony is even offering a free game with free online play and to help pay for that they have added micro transactions to the game as well as ingame ads. So why would they go and start charging people to play online on ps3. That is also the reason Warkawk has a different DRM than their other downloadable games in psn store. Sony stated the cause for different DRM on Warhawk was to insure they could provide free online game play by preventing game sharing and pirating of the game as in previous psn store games.kawizxr

Exactly. Sony has a big advantage saying their online service is FREE, especiallywhen one day it's as big as LIVE.

They also say that MGS4 and FF XIII will be on the 360 when the developers said that they won't be. Can't trust rumors, so go invest your life in rumors.brotherreese

I wouldn't be surprised if we found ourselves with subscription fees to certain games or services, but as in being able to log onto PSN and access online games and services it'll always be free.
