How many of you have platinumed a game while PSN has been down. If you have, post what game. I have platinumed Toy Story 3 and Tron: Evolution. Yes, I know that they are kid games, but all my other games have nnothing left to do on them but online.

Mafia 2
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within
Prince of Persia: Two Thrones
When PSN finally goes online, I'll get the Portal platinum within a few days.

does it really matter?
one meaningless picture of a trophy is just as valuable as any other meaningless picture of a trophy. :P[QUOTE="Rakuho"][QUOTE="StealthMonkey4"]

Save it 7, 9, and 13, or something like that. Just use the PC and Force Gun (especially later on, you'll use pretty much FG only) and it'll be a breeze.

Basically yeah, do that. Just don't get discouraged if you die and lose a lot of progress because it's GOING to happen. My biggest loss was about 6 chapters worth of progress. I was so mad that I just stared blankly at the screen in silence. :P
I restarted my Hardcore run a few times. That first save is crucial in setting up what you can do for the rest of the game. I saved at Chapter 7 (just before the elevator ride), Chapter 11 (before the second elevator sequence), and Chapter 14 (the room with the store and workbench just before you open the door to start the final chapter). It's all about getting into a good rhythm with the game. Difficulty-wise it's a cakewalk compared to Zealot, it's just that there's a lot more at stake. The biggest rules to go by are conserve ammo when possible by using Kinesis and objects but don't put yourself in harm's way. Most people have said don't use any more than 3 weapons, that way you get more ammo for just those 3.
For my run I did cheese it a bit. I had the CE and I got the Supernova DLC. This allowed me access to a Force Gun from the start (CE) and the Supernova DLC gave me access to an enhanced Plasma Cutter, enhanced Contact Beam, and an enhanced Detonator that you could buy, shoot out the mines, then trade in for credits. By the end of the game, all of my specs were maxed and I had no less than 5 Medpacks with me at all times. Using those 4 weapons felt like the best set up to me though. As StealthMonkey said, you can pretty much just run around with the Force Gun for the most post. It's your all-purpose shotgun, the ammo's cheap, and it stacks up well. The PC you need for a good all-around weapon, the Detonator's great for any encounters with Stalkers and the Chapter 7 elevator fight, and the Contact Beam's ammo sells for tons of credits and is crucial to the last fight and any encounters with Brutes (2 well placed fully-charged shots can drop a Brute).
Here are the two guides I would occasionally check as a reference.
Dead Space 2 Hardcore Mode Guide & Encyclopedia
Dead Space 2 - Power Node, Schematic, and Semiconductor Locations
I beat the game twice before doing Hardcore and my first playthrough was on Zealot. If you can survive Zealot, you can beat Hardcore. Just be ready to leave your PS3 on pause for a while if you need sleep or have stuff to do. :P
Suprisingly, I have barely touched my PS3 during the outage, but I have been working on FFXIII plat... slowly but surely :)

Bah, I wanted to do that but only got God of War 3. In the other two games I'm only missing the challenges but they really piss me off.God of War I,II, and III, feels good man :) I've been meaning to get those for a while

Sly 1, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, and Prince of Persia. I'm close to Platinums in the other 2 games of Sly and Prince of Persia though.
Finally got Plat on Dead Space: Extraction. Jeez, if I had advice for anyone, it's to use a freakin guide your very first time so you don't have to play through the levels again just to get all the items, upgrades, and whatever.
I had to play chapter 5 about 5 seperate times before I finally got everything.
I haven't platinumed it yet, but I should be done with Dragon Age: Origins platinum tomorrow or after tomorrow.
