Is anyone else blessedly surprised by this game? I've only played the Traditional mode so far but it's so cool that this game has been given a new-ish life. Loved it as a kid and the fact that there are no pieces to scatter is wonderful.

Anyone else into it? Or am I an old fart from a by-gone era?

Yeah, Melpoe. There's a video game translation on PSN for $10us and it's pretty sweet. The presentation is cool and there is a mode where you can pick a faction with various strengths in combat sort of like special powers...

I'm pretty sure you can have up to four players and/ or CPU opponents. There's a demo free on the PSN. I know this is an ancient game, but a quality game is a quality game no matter when it's made in my opinion. "RISK" is a classic. The beauty of this version is that you can't kick over the board "accidentally" when you're losing, or cheat a unit onto the board when no one is looking.

The combat is fast, the presentation is fresh... I like it.
