PSN Store is so slow the coders should be fired. Now.

I just got a PS3, having been without a console since I got rid of my Xbox two years back, and while I love the games I've played so far (Uncharted 1&2, Journey (holy crap was that awesome) and inFamous), I constantly find myself infuriated by how slowly I can navigate through the PSN Store. On top of that, even if I know exactly what I want, I have to click through an ungodly number of submenus to get to it. Sometimes when using the search function, I can get stuck on a single letter for 20-30 seconds, and when I have too many letters selected, the whole store just starts lagging and I have to restart it. Is it this ridiculously bad for you other people as well, or is there something funky going on here? The xbox live store wasn't exactly fast, but I never had to wait more than a couple of seconds between menus.

I have to agree, I'm a bit disappointed by the new store due to its slowness. I don't see what was wrong about the old store to the extent that it required a complete overhaul.

At least the japanese store is still the old layout. I don't know why they changed it. I found the old one easier to navigate tbh.

Not a fan of it either. Still annoyed about the history aspect. I don't need to see that my bro downloaded every single download ever for the last 4 years if I'm searching for a DLC info. Let me edit or delete that junk.

It is. I've also had troubles downloading games (errors have popped up several times).

Everything was made harder to do and slower to accomplish. I'm assuming they tested this out before pushing it public so SOMEONE didn't make that "hey guys, this sh1t is obviously awful" judgement call.

I HATE the new PSN store. It's a lot slower now and not as easy to find stuff quickly. Also, has anyone else noticed that it sounds like navigating the menus in Dino Crisis? I think that's the game I'm thinking of. It's definitely Capcom sounding. It just makes me feel like I'm using some console from the late 90's. That would actually be kinda nice and nostalgic if it actually worked. I guess they also wanted to give you a sense of realism and make you feel like you're using a dial-up connection.

I just use the Web version look for that I want add it to list and checkout then go back in via the PS3 one for the actual download.

I have to wonder sometimes what the fark is Sony smoking. The old store was fine. The new store is pure garbage. It takes a minute just to load it up! Then they have deals mixed in with movies and games. Nothing is easy to find. Sure, the graphics are nice, but not worth the hassle. It's so hard just to find the basics like the latest demo or the new DLC. I just don't understand why they never can get it right. Even after all these years, something as basic as youtube is slow and clunky.

i remember there was an update awhile back but it wasn't nearly as drastic as this.

Who knows. after the Mass Effect 3 fiasco anything is possible

No manual input, slow as f***, unnecessary menus, photos are resized (they look like s***), video quality is horrible (no resize option)...

It is slightly slower than the older version but PSN store does look better as you can see the game picture much better than before. I browse through all the PSN games and before the game picture/description was too small even on my 46" screen.

im not a big fan of the new update but it doesnt bother me that much i only use maybe once a month? if that. its really slow though i will agree

While I dont agree the coders need to be fired I do agree about the new store layout.

It is a lot slower now to navigate, takes longer than the Wii U menu to load, and to me just looks ugly and half-assed. The only good thing about the new PSN store is the search feature, other than that its crap.

I also dont like how they moved the Trophies to the Store section because it makes the UI even laggier. And try to look up trophies while in a game and/or online, you will be sitting for a bit while it chugs along.

The store is pretty useless to me. Only good for demos and games that don't have a retail copy to purchase. All the other games are way over priced even after the PS+ discount. I can get games cheaper from places like Amazon, EBay, ect..AmazonTreeBoa

The current PSN Store is a complete downgrade from the previous version. If a random person were to compare the last store version and the current store version without knowing which one is the newest version he/she would probably think that the previous PSN Store was the upgrade from the current PSN Store. The current PSN Store is so old fashioned and I get errors from time to time which causes my PS3 to freeze and reset my system. I WANT THE OLD PSN STORE BACK!!!

it took me a while to get used to, it seems at times some games are impossible to find. I had found some games today that I didnt even knew existed in the market place due to the terrible layout.

It's terrible.

I hate how slow it is to boot up, and just generally slow as phuck. Plus you have to "proceed to checkout" like 9 times before you actually get to download something. I hate the new way to search too.
