Fine with me. I said all along they had 2 weeks and if it wasn't up by today I was saying adios to my ps3. I work to much every week to not be able to enjoy my free time gaming how I want to. Maybe if Sony had shown some good will and respect to it's customers with actual updates and not these "updates" which tell us nothing we didn't previously know other than the fact that the timeline has been extended once again; I would be more patient. But I'm done with Sony they bragged about their unhackable security, then it got hacked, and we are the ones who pay for it. I hope they lose a lot of business as a result of this because that's what they deserve.AdamRiggs4Many people will tell you to get a life or say okay bye or say it's free stop complaining, why because they are tools. I agree you buy a system for 300 dollars plus have things like PS plus and netflix on it, its bull s*** that Sony doesn't give us a legit time frame.

Sony needs to take as much time as they need to get things right. If they get it up to soon and the PSN is compromised again then PSN is probably done for this-gen. I'm a little pissed at them also however, I am pleased that we will be compensated with free credit monitoring service and to me that's the most import thing at the moment.
Is it ever gonna get back online or what? It seems like they keep setting the date for the PSN's return later and later.
Whats the source on this...? I feel like people just keep making up their own dates and then others read em and think SONY said it then complain that SONY lied to them.1. it should be up on Tuesday

And this is exactly why I won't renew my PS plus subscription. I will be buying a 360 in June with halo reach. Im finally going to pull the trigger an buy one after graduation. Most of my friends have a 360 anyways. Ima just use my ps3 for the exclusives. All of my online gaming/multiplatform gaming will be on the 360 from now on.
Some of you are taking this WAY out of hand. Don't you have friends? Don't you have girlfriends? Don't you have the "Other System"? Don't you believe in heading outside to hang with friends?
my dates Are Correct. since 2006sony always updates their firmware on either Tuesday or Thursdays. never on other days. when PSN goes up so will a mandatory Firmware update.
It will never be on a munday, wednesday, friday, or weekend. be realistic. thats not how sony operates. its not their MO.
1000 bucks says PSN will go online on either a Tuesday or a Thursday. I guarantee it.
Sony's informing the customers is like the text book corporation strategy when something big happens just like BP.. BP first says it isn't that much oil that they have been able to tap it down.. They than say that it is alot of oil per hour but they can tap it down.. Or the reverse.. Than finally they say that its way more oil than they claimed and its out of control.. Sony did the exact same thing.. Service is down, but personal information is safe.. Than personal information has been compromised but the credit card information is fine.. Than days later the credit card information has in fact been compromised all along.. I honestly hope Sony gets their asses sued for all this crap, this is 2011.. Sony controls a massive internet service that is trusted for personal information on.. Their incompetence has led them to this.. sSubZerOo
yeah thats actually exactly what i was thinking. i was comparing this to the BP thing. they really handled this the wrong way, they lost so much respect from their customers, and their competition. microsoft is probably not even laughing at them at this point, just pity. ud expect more professionalism from a billion dollar company.i do hope they can bounce back from this, but they gotta do it in a big way cuz they messed up BIG time.

Sadly Sensi, I think the answer would be NO to all of your questions.:P

Yeah I don't get it honestly. We get all these defenders who say its not Sony's fault and demonize the hackers.. Hackers are a fact of life, we signed a contract that put limits on us at the guarentee that Sony would keep our information safe.. I have lost faith with corporations in general, that it seems like the only time they will ever change if they get their asses sued to high heaven to realize their profits are endanger when they are incompetent... If this were not the case, corporations would continue to cut corners at the expense of the customer.

I'm with you on this. I have been nothing but disappointed for the most part this gen with Sony. They got big headed, made a lot of promises in the begining, fell short when the system launched and the other console still had more features than the "supercomputer". I have supported sony since the PS1 days, but I'm done till the PS4 comes out. The loss of exclusives, the fact I don't care for there present line of exclusives this gen, sorry just not an uncharted fan guys lol, the fact that on LIVE it has weekly discounts on arcade games without having to pay the 50.00 a year (PSN+) or 60.00 a year for LIVE, add in the current debacle with the PSN being hacked and info being compromised, yeah its been a big disappointment for me.
I don't hate sony, I just think they have been fumbling in the dark this gen. Im sick of the dissapointment from them. As soon as the PSN goes back up, I'm canceling all my monthly subscriptions, (Freerealms-DCUO) and getting some in-store credit for it at my local game store. And I hope Sony doesn't hemorrhage out from all this bad management, and choices they have made, I think that the PS4 could truly be a dominant force next-gen if Sony learns from there mistakes this gen. I respect all of you that are going to tough it out with sony, and I hope they pull through. Like I said I don't hate Sony at all, but the terrible mismanagement of their gaming division this gen is just too much. Hopefully next-gen bodes better for them.
Great, im working till 7 that day, and if it comes back on on thursday I have college then im going straight back out again for an open night. Oh well :P
You guys that are all like "oh i've lost my faith in sony boohoo" .... seriously. Unless you've actually had a major problem with this hack just stop complaining.
The only really reason most of you are complaining is that you can't play online. You can still play games that don't require PSN or better yet do something constructive with this spare time you now have.
So unless you've had money taken from your accounts or your entire identity stolen just pipe down huh? It'l be back online at somepoint, today, tomorrow, a months time, who knows? Im sure you'll live. Id rather they took all the time they need to ensure this doesn't happen again then do a half assed job because impatient users.

Agreed. People just need to take a chill pill. It sucks but we're all in the same boat here, we're all in this together. So when it comes back on we can say we made history in the gaming world or something =PYou guys that are all like "oh i've lost my faith in sony boohoo" .... seriously. Yeah what would be even more hilarious is if just by chance Sony had somehow removed all known ways of connecting to games through a hacked PS3... Im sick of playing World at War and having some idiot with infinite health just ruin it. I wonder if Sony are also trying to fix this since their servers are being transformed? Oh and i totally agree, people blaming Sony for this need to stop looking at this the wrong way, a hacker broke into the servers and Sony stopped them, deal with it.You guys that are all like "oh i've lost my faith in sony boohoo" .... seriously. no source except Ive been constantly monitoring sony since 2006 launch. updates to firmware or psn have ALWAYS been on Tuesday or Thursday. this has been Confirmed in the past.
I guess thats because the hard-workingSony employees always take the rest of the week off. they work nonstop for 2 days a week, and thentake a well-deserved break for the remaining 5 days. you should know thatthey have Meager minimum wages since PSN is Free.
You can't set deadlines for things like these. You will know when its ready because you will be on it the day it comes back.

They gave a timeframe 2,maybe 3, times already and weren't able to make it. It's pretty hard for them to give a solid timeframe if they started testing on Thursday. They could be running into problems, causing them to go through the process of testing all over again.
Even though I don't like citing no-name sites as good sources of information, this one seems to be reliable. It's been updating day by day, so keep an eye on it. If the person giving the information is to be believed, PSN is close to coming back online. Still, you should wait for Sony to give the official word.

wow, you really dont think Sony has any blame......... Why the heck was 77 million peoples information being stored on unpatched servers that had no firewalls???

Im no computer software engineer, or even a major electronics manufacturer that makes computers, phones, and other systems that connect through the internet. I am however smart enough to know that an unpatched, unfirewalled system is a bad idea.
Also as far as "Sony stopped them", which time did they stop them? they got hacked 3 times now... the psn was successfully hacked, so was Qriocity, then a week later sony online enternainment network was hacked. 77 million accounts comprimsed in the first week, then a week later they got hacked and 25 million more accounts were comprimised (credit cards too this time). Sony hasn't stopped anything, don't be a fool, they shut down everything cause their back doors have been wide open this whole time.

if sony has been hacked 3 times in a row and cant seem to stop the barrage of hack attacks, then i guess Im gonna have to buy a 360. if for every single little hack they need to shut down PSN then PSN has just become unplayable. im guessing PSN will be hacked on a monthly basis from now on. waiting for PSN to go on is futile and pointless. once a new hack comes along they will shut it down again and again and again.
WOW. i have never seen such pure and epic failure in its rawest form. unbelievable.

I'm not taking anything out of hand, I'm flat out PO'd about it to be quite honest. I've been waiting over 2 weeks now to play a game that I've been waiting to play ever since the PS3 came out. To answer your questions, yes I have friends, yes I have a woman, no I don't have an Xbox, and yes I spend a lot of time outside with friends. When i'm not busy all I wanna do is play some SOCOM, is that too much to freaking ask for?

i wouldn't worry too much, when the psn comes back not only will be secure, it will be a much better service all around. sony made a huge mistake and they know it, and they are going to make it right, i'm sure. don't make a bad decision like selling your ps3, you will regret it. although im mad at sony for their stupid mistake, i still love my ps3. my post was only to point out that this wasn't just the hackers fault, they're on the net and always will be, companies (just like us as individuals) need to properly protect themselves.
I don't really mind if it come until then, I have been able to keep myself busy with other things like going to the gym to pump some iron, work on my university homework, playing basketball, or watching the Lakers stink it up in the playoffs. There is more to do than complain about PSN being down lol.
