In an article posted early today on GS(Yoshida Talks all things PS4) he stated that Sony is basically debating and brainstorming on keeping PSN free. I think as people who buy these expensive consoles and games we shouldn't be force to buy a subscription to play video games. It should be optional like they've been doing now, it'd be tragdic if they abandon this model...

I have no problem paying for something that's worth paying for.

I think people are worried over nothing.  I think that services such as Hulu, Netflix, PS Plus, and Gaikai will requre a fee, but games themselves will not.  All Yoshida is saying is that Sony is still working out the kinks with different companies, so it is not going to comment on how online will work just yet.  If Sony is carrying PS Plus over to PS4, then this probably means that playing online will be free.  Otherwise, what would be the purpose of having PS Plus if everyone paid for online?

I hope they just keep the PS Plus model. They can lock some of the features like streaming behind that and I'll be happy with it.

Unfortunately, this is the case for most people I have talked to.
