Is the PSP 2 really coming out?

no
i think sony is done with handhelds just like sega and others who failed to take nintendos market
they will turn their focus on to the phone market with psp brand name
appearently thats their plans
and even if psp 2 does get announced
it may cost 300-600
look at psp
250 , first ever 250 handheld
and how much further graphically can it go before pulling a ps3
-you know the scoop 600 same battery life due to graphics
etc
i think sony would not do good in my personal opinion i think psp is what shot sony from the thrown
not ps3
dispite selling 50 mill ,
sony spends more time with it then it did with ps3 in 2006-2007
, that cost them
yeah it was $250 when launched but it came with a case, memory stick, earphones, demos and a movie. It was well priced for at that time. And now they haven't failed to compete with Nintendo, take a look at how popular the PSP is in japan and it have great games and less shovelware.no

I wouldn't buy it immediately. I'd wait for the library to build. It took me 5 years to finally get a PSP even though I wanted one for all of those 5 years. Takes time.
To each his own but aren't we supposed to life the present not the future. A lot of things can happen in that time.I wouldn't buy it immediately. I'd wait for the library to build. It took me 5 years to finally get a PSP even though I wanted one for all of those 5 years. Takes time.

The only reason the PSP has less shovelware is because it's not the best selling.

My friend i don't want to be rude but you're plain wrong. Sony doesn't let developers bombard their system with shovelware. You don't see this on a sony console:All these are examples of umpcoming garbage listed on Gamestop for the DS and these kind of garbage have been available since the early life of the DS.

You don't see this on a sony console. What about the Petz series, Beowulf, the Golden Compass, Hannah Montana, etc. I think Sony has the right to refuse publishing, but I don't think they've ever used that, if so, rarely. They want to have more kids games on the system, but most developers develop for the easiest and best-selling system, so we are ending up with more quality than quantity.soulreaper-4

It's not always the case of best-selling system. Take a look at the PS2 the best-selling console last gen and ever and it didn't had a mountain of shovelware.[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]My friend i don't want to be rude but you're plain wrong. Its also because the ds has a younger audience which will buy shovelware whereas most psp owners would not, speaking in general of course.prolly gonna wait a while after it comes out. so the price goes down and stufffmacrazeHaha you people sometimes make me laugh. The think is not yet available and you are already waiting for a price cut.
heck YES!!! i'm SUPER excited for a PSP2! get the graphics a bit better since they already are on-par with PS2, make it a PS2.5 perhaps, give it a second analog stick/nub and um... i guess good games? i can't really thinkg of anything else to add. i personally like the digital-only way the PDPgo went, i just think SONY could have handled things much better i.e trade-in for existing customer's games and less expensive digital games than their physical counterparts. seriously though, what else could it have possibly done? the PSP2 just needs to get a stronger console and refine what SONY has already done well with it. if it's good, the sales will come.

Ok one Hanna Montana, One or two Petz is not the same as 30 Petz, 30 imagines and so on. As for Beowulf and the Golden Compass although they are games that sucks they are MOVIE BASED GAMES that are available for all console including Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, PS3, PC.[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]My friend i don't want to be rude but you're plain wrong. Very interesting post. You didnt have to OWN! him like that with your post, but your post was quite informative. Not many stupid cuddly games on the Almighty PSP. As for the PSP 4000, Coolyfett says there is no need to rush it. The current PSP has plenty of life. These thread is going the SW direction and guilty parties will be reported.[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]My friend i don't want to be rude but you're plain wrong. I saw worse games than those on the ps2
10 shovelware on a console vs 200 or more is not the same. The current DS have like 50 imagines, 50 petz and so on. While they launch a Hanna Montana game on PSP the DS have a bag full of them. IF YOU WANT I CAN FIND A BUNCH OF EXAMPLES.[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]My friend i don't want to be rude but you're plain wrong. Sony doesn't let developers bombard their system with shovelware. I'm talking about shovelware not great games like Spiro the dragon and movie games.
soulreaper-4
"Enter the Dragonfly" was not a great game. It was a disgrace to the series and to gaming in general. Scoring a 2.8 on GameSpot.
As far as I know the first two were not based on any movies. Though cheap movie tie-ins games can certainly qualify as shovelware IMO.

ok look, I've got to set you straight. First off, the games you listed were all on DIFFERENT Sony systems, all the games the other guy listed were on the DS ONLY. Then you add in the fact that Spyro was not shuvelware but a bad title, and you have a terrible comeback post. There were many shuvelware titles released on all consoles, but when you compare these the ps2 vs the wii, guess who has more shuvelware the Wii. the psp vs the DS, DS is the King of Portable Shuvelware. It doesn't mean the PSP doesn't have it, it shows that it doesn't sell well on the PSP because the audience actually understands what they're buying.

DaAlienMan
"All on DIFFERENT Sony systems"? That's a bit of an exaggeration, since all but the last one was a PS2 title. I added that one only because it shows Sony openly supporting this kind of software.
Shovelware seems to generally be defined as something that is rushed to the market, with little regard for appearance and usability. As buggy as Enter The Dragonfly is, I'd argue that it qualifies.
