Hey all. Just got a PSP 3000 and updated it to 5.0. The problem is when I go to the home screen from a game, the UMD icon doesn't show up like before, all you get is that pulsing circle in the lower right. To get the game to start again, I have to open and close the flap on the back where the game goes. Anyone else have this or a similar problem? Thanks in advance.

Just return it for a new one while the waranty is still valid.

I have one too but I don't seem to have that problem. When you put a game in you have to wait for the PSP to load it first and then it will popup on the XMB. It might necessarily be on there right after you go to the XMB. Try waiting like 5 seconds to see if it will popup. Btw, the circle in the bottom right is the loading thing.

Also, if you are talking about the game not starting automatically when you put the game in, there is a setting to where the game will play automatically or not.

Go to settings and make sure UMD catch is on. I'm not sure this will help but...

I have a 3000 and the 5.0 firmware but haven't experienced this at all. I'd recommend go returning it for another one. When I first got a PSP 2000 last year it would turn off when playing certain games for know reason, I just exchanged it and the new one worked fine.

You might want to go into the System Settings menu and do a Restore Default Settings. This will completely wipe the PSP though so you'll have to re-input all your info.
