Pretty much confirms a high price tag in my eyes. Which is a shame. This is starting to remind me of the PS3, a lot. I'll probably get one 5 years down the road like I did with my PS3. Best decision I ever made, but Im glad I wasnt an early adopter.

Makes sense. The PSP already has a fanbase. It's not like everyone who has a PSP will go out and buy a PSP2.

On a side note, it might be better to actually quote the article in the OP, or at least provide more info instead of just a link.

Doesn't surprise me. That's what PS3 and PS2 did. I seriously think NGP will be over $300. Maybe something like, $350 or $400.

Maybe they will co-exist, but the NGP is gonna get all the games and the PSP is left with Madden, FIFA, NBA and movie tie-ins.

So it's just pretty much the same situation with the PS2 and the PS3 both still being on the market then? Well that's good. I'd rather have a console last until it just can't make it anymore than to just be cut off as soon as the next one comes out. (plus it's good for the company, people are still buying new PS2's)

PreOrders for the WiFi only PSP has been confirmed to be 299.98 that pricing is fair for such an amazing device as this new PSP.

Agree that its fair but it hasnt been confirmed. It's an unconfirmed picture thats supposed to be from gamestop. Where did you find that out? Gamestop only has this page.http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/ngp/

Confirmed? Source please? With all the crazy rumours that went around about the PSP2, you can't trust any possibly photoshopped image out there, so I'm not trusting that GameStop image for now.

In my eyes, PSP is slowly dying. Not a lot of games for my taste coming out. I never liked RPG's, pretty much hated them to be honest. With NGP's release, i already see some games advertised that i like. Too bad, PSP is my second favorite platform.

NGP and PSP coexisting?

If the NGP launch is on Nov 17th 2011. I can see the PSP continuing to be supported for about 1 year, Along side the NGP. So November 2012 is the latest I can see having games released for it. The NGP is going to cost a pretty penny when it is released. So keeping the PSP active for a year during the NGP first year at retail makes sense. Sony promises a 10 year lifespan to its consoles with the Playstation 1 and the Playstation 2. Sony has done that. I can easily see the PS3 lasting 10 years.

However the PSP 1 lasting until March 24th 2015 (which is the 10 year mark) not a chance.

PSP has 1 year of life left after the NGP is released. PSP will last about 7 years which is closest that it will get to 10 years.

I have a feeling that most of the PSP's continued support will be focused in Japan.
