Hi guys,

I originally wanted to get a Wii for my bro/family. However, just a few days ago, my mate got me a PSP and a few games as a belated birthday present. He still has the receipt (and although VERY reluctant to exchange), he reckons I should keep the PSP instead of exchanging and paying a little more for a Wii.

1. Those of you, who own a Wii, which do you play more? Your PSP or the Wii?

2. where do you play your PSP? I have to travel on the train about 45 mins and the same amount back when i start work and the PSP will come in handy - I don't see any other reason to use it...

3. Is the wii wayyyyy better?

4. I was given pro evo + midnight club + another cool game. I hate carrying them around. Is there a way I can shove all 3 onto a 4GB Memory card? - any websites that help with this method?

This is a thread on the PC forum (cos i'm a PC gamer - don't own any consoles) :

http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25739174&msg_id=290008539

where I was going to get a wii .

THANK YOU!

ps. If i keep the psp (which is looking more and more likely, since my mate is not keen on exchanging) I plant to get a 2 or 4gig card and a logitech case. I have a usb mini cable which i'm guessing will work with the psp.

i think it depends on what type of games do you like?

If you like nintendo 1st party games, party games in general, and more kid/cartoony themed games, I would recommend the Wii. The Wii is a bit more social too.. its a good way to get non gamers to play video games... especially with Wii Sports.

If you like sony games like Ratchet and Clank, MEtal Gear, Wipeout, Twisted Metal etc. I would go with the PSP. God of War is also a notable game coming out. Also unlike the Wii , its portable. And you can watch movies or listen to music on the go.

Personally, I have both and I like my PSP more. I'm not really into party games so the only Wii games that get my interest are Wii Sports, Zelda, Metroid, and Mario Galaxy. I only own Wii Sports and Wii Play so far, and after about 30 mintues of playing those i get bored. I like games with indepth stories, and the psp seems to have more of what I like. Good luck on your decision.

You're comparing apples and oranges really. If your friend bought you a gift and you're going to say 'oh this isn't good enough I want to trade it for a wii', you aren't a very good friend and if I was the friend that gave you the PSP I'd take it back and tell you to f*ck straight off. Save up your own money to get a Wii with, and respect the gifts that people give you. The only reason this would be understandable is if you got 2 PSPs for your birthday, then yeah trade one for a Wii, but your situation makes you look like a bad friend.

What he said. I mean, he went through the trouble to buy you a PS2, which cost $170. That isn't cheap. Hell, to get anything from a friend that's over $100 probably means that he's your best friend and will likely be your best man at your wedding. So to screw him over by selling the thing he had saved for forever is...

Anyways, I am an owner of a PSP and a Wii (and a PS3, but nobody in this thread should give a ****) and I personally am using both equally, seeing as I'm stoked by the Wii-mote controls and at the same time I'm stoked playing unbelievably awesome portable games like Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror or Killzone Liberation. So at this point, it's a toss-up. but here's a tip if you're gonna get a Wii: stay the **** away from the mini-game crap like Wii Play. The only good one is Wario Ware Smooth Moves.

sorry, couldn't reply sooner. WE both went out and exchanged the PSP for a Wii at GAME store. We've been playing tennis for the last 2 hours straight. Awesome fun!We thought VT3 on the Pc ewas cool, buttennis on the Wii rocks. I wa sceptical of it first and labelled it as a gimmick but it's far from that. Boxing is fun too butGolf isn't that good . He wants one too! My dad also loves it. At just £30 (50-60 bucks) more, we both agree the wii was well worth it.

It heats up a little but that's expected. good thig is, i don't need to buy a memory card or case no more: wii just sits nicely below the dvd player in the living room.

As for our friendship - who the f**k are you guys to comment on it? you don't know anything about us. And for the record, I bought HIM a 360 + 2 games for his b'day. so there.

Adios.

ps. Ratchet fan, you wanna come over so I can teach you how to read?

I play my psp a lot more than my wii at the moment, right now there just aren't many good games out for the wii, i would probably sell my wii if it wasn't for super smash bros brawl coming out soon.

im going to be as non-bias as I can. I would get the PSP cuz the WII only has a few games (Zelda, wario ware, resident evil) that are out right now that are good enough to play.

I used my friends wii, and I just thought that thing was soo stupid... its like a gamecube with motion sensing... most of the games are just smooth graphics like the heads of the characters look like pins from a bowling alley, and the other games like almost just like a gamecube its really nothing to jump up and down about... but I know if I had a wii I would play my psp WAAAAY more... not just for games but everything else I can do with it, and if you bought all the things that the psp can do like mp3 player, dvd player, ps2 and a picture viewer... you would pay a whole lot more... when you could have just settled for a psp.... and honestly if you showed a psp to someone that never knew they exsisted and perhaps a ds by any chance I guarantee you that they would choose a psp, nintendo is just remaking alot of games, and just making them wii compatible... and not makeing any actual change..... Enough of that crap make something new sony does it with just about every game that comes out

: buttennis on the Wii rocks

You play butt tennis on your Wii? You are best friends!

Seriously, if you are going to play multi-player in the same room, then Wii is great. (The party games do suck now, but should improve.) If you don't travel much, or don't have competition for the TV screen, then a full console will always be better. I don't know much about PSP multi-player, but even if it was great, he would need one for you to play together. Plus, if you get tired of your Wii, you can always sell it and get a PSP.

I am just now using my PSP after taking a year+ to play the DS. Having a good time with it. (At the time the DS games were better, and I hadn't bought handles for my PSP, which otherwise kills my hand when using the analog control.)

PSP is alright but wii is a tone more fun. You should compare the wii and PSP games and see what upcoming ones appeal to you more.

1. I play both a bout the same.

2. I play with my PSP where ever I want... Except at work.... and friend get togethers andplaces it's inapropriate to have it.

3. no. I'd say their about equel. Both have a lot of untapped potential.

4. I wouldn't know
