A few other negative points were mentioned in the review though such as the cable to charge it/do everything with it if it's lost you need to purchase a new one at company premiums.
MediaGo for the moment is windows exclusive. A little lower battery life depending on the settings. Can't just replace the battery like old psp systems you have to send it into Sony for them to change it.
And lastly "One of our biggest concerns with Sony's move to cut out the UMD drive and integrate fully with digitally-distributed games and media was the inconsistency of Wi-Fi connectivity and subsequently inferior transfer rates." from IGN review.
I also feel the price point is too close to the ps3 now. So if you want a handheld great but for $50 more you could have a console.
Aside from the concerns (some of which aren't really mine) I hope pspgo succeeds because I would like to download all my future content. Not sure I'm going to do with existing umds for the next generation though.
the screen being smaller is a GOOD thing...same resolution + smaller screen = better quality...graphicw will LOOK betterlewisg1212
yeah but that's really a down grade. Would you rather have 1080p on a 50" tv or 1080p on a 20". Sure its smaller but the graphics are still the same making it harder to see things.
The reason I believe its smaller is not because of graphic but to make it ergonomic. Though I'm not sure how that has worked out because I haven't held one yet.

bad analogy because its not true...having the same resolution on a smaller screen means the pixels are smaller...meaning that there is more definition..more detail. games on the dsi looked worse than the dsi because the screen was bigger but kept the same resoultion. every review has said...the screen looks MUCH betterDid they improve the actual graphics capabilities on the psp go? or kept the same basic hardware and make the screen smaller?

Are you serious?
Here's a better equation
Better technology + larger screen = better quality
The screen being smaller is a big warning flag for anyone on the fence. After the way the 3000's screen performed people are worried that Sony took the easy way out and made the screen smaller so they wouldn't have to up the tech there.

so your saying same technology on a larger screen will look better than a smaller screen? wrong. ever hear on the gba micro...games looks AMAZING on it...uses the same screen as the gba advance...smaller screen...games look much much better[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"][QUOTE="lewisg1212"]the screen being smaller is a GOOD thing...same resolution + smaller screen = better quality...graphicw will LOOK betterlewisg1212

You're saying that it's ok that they didn't up the tech on the screen because they took the easy way out and shrank it down
I'm saying they should have made a better screen that could be just as large (if not larger) that didn't suffer from interlacing and artificial colors like the 3000. Also shrinking it down doesn't save it from the color palette that it has.
A smaller screen is NOT a good thing
.4 of an inch being a small amount is relative. If you make a large TV .4 inches smaller no one can tell.
You make a handheld screen .4 inches smaller then it becomes noticeable. It's all perspective.
im aware of that and i still dont think its that bigger deal...i have 20/20 vision...my preference is that a smaller screen would be better...that is all..4 of an inch being a small amount is relative. If you make a large TV .4 inches smaller no one can tell.

I hate to say this but the psp go = sony version of the virtual boy. Epic fail. I think its a horrible idea. Their not converting umds. its only 50 buck cheaper then a ps3.. it may have more raw horse power then a ds or dsi but ds series so much more fun and economic climate friendly.
Ive already preordered it and I do think that the review is completely unbiased and completely fair. I know the limitations the Go has for it and its advantages. For a new buyer or someone who doesnt have a lot of UMDs (like myself) its something that you should look into. However if you have a fine collection of UMDs or have a 3000 then its something that you shouldnt buy since its sort of redundant.
I think its overall a very good score considering the score and its the first all digital GAMING handheld (iphone/itouch dont count)

Sony has just raised the price on the PSP and taken features like the UMD drive out
What can you do on a Go that can't be done on any other PSP? no 2nd analog, no exclusive Go games, no better hardware, $80 more than a regular PSP, and some ppl will buy this sadly when they could just buy a 3000 and get the used UMD market with cheaper prices than the weird prices for PSP games on PSN

actually only ign have said that its less comfortable....every other review i have read has compared it to holiding a dual shock...and being waayy more easy to hold :)Playing monster hunter on this will make it more uncomfortable than it already is.

sorry but NO WAY i can agree with you. Flawed reasoning. Bigger screen is better, especially when the screen is small in the first place.
edit:
and after watching the review its about what I expected. I own a PSP 2000, so of course I wont buy the go. but if i owned ZERO psp games and didnt mind paying way too much for a digital download of EVERY game, then getting one would be a possibility.
my prediction: psp go will have ok sales, by spring they will drop the price. Then sony will remove the psp3000 from the store shelves soon after.
Playing monster hunter on this will make it more uncomfortable than it already is.

That doesn't even make sense.
every review says the screen looks sharper...as the pixels are smaller... think of it like this...downloading an image and zooming in...the picture becomes pixelated = the psp 3000 zoom out again...and its clearer :) get me?[QUOTE="nighthawk260"]

Interlacing isn't as bad but it still has that artificial "vibrant" color palette like the 3000
Which looks better and can be turned off.

No, he's talking about Monster Hunter. The PSPgo will be horrible for it if someone tries to play the game with the common 'claw' technique.
I won't be touching this until its price is dropped and I can have my old games on it.Ringx55
I would be buying it. I'd love the smaller size, and DD on the internal memory IF it was $149.99 or $169.99
if it had a conversion program, i'd just go buy used UMDs for $14 instead of $22 on PSN, transfer them into the Go, and then return the used UMD to the store. Wait, maybe that is why there isn't a conversion program,.........
