If you are looking for a pure multimedia device like music and etc...Ipod will be the better choice since PSP is mainly a portable gaming platform but its capable multimedia applications such as music, movie, internet etc....
IMO PSP might not be the best multimedia device but it can pretty much meet most of your multimedia needs.
I use it to play Youtube videos all of the time. I also have some music in it but I aminly use it for gaming. So, yes, it does make a pretty good multimedia device. Unfortunatley you can't watch videos with it's browser but I suppose the games make up for that.erazor521yes i knew that. But you can still watch youtube videos on it. so you save them to your psp ?
it's a good multi media device, more so if you home brew it, it seems though, but I refuse to do that, I like my PSP the way it is. So I miss out on having youtube. But it's good all the same for video and music.
Personally I would get an archos, They're amazing, the internet runs perfect and they play any video type. I've never like Ipods myself.
no stuff like that is too expensive. and i want a gaming device not one of those. i mean im just wondering when i get it will i be able to put songs on it just as easy as my zune ? without the zune store of course.it's a good multi media device, more so if you home brew it, it seems though, but I refuse to do that, I like my PSP the way it is. Still waiting on my new PSP, but I had a launch PSP...

Only think I didn't like were the menus. I'm not sure if they are better today than they were at launch. Navigating through large libraries was tedious. Also, storage can be expensive. Sony memory sticks have come down in price quite a bit since they were released, but they are still more than SD's.
But, if you primarily want a gaming device that can also do media, I don't know what else anyone could recommend.

Yeah. You can save youtube video to your PSP. You can download any Youtube video you want at mediaconverter.org . Just be sure you download the video as an mp4.
Also, one issue I had was getting the videos to work. It turned out I had to make a folder called VIDEO to store my videos.
I use the PSP (besides gaming) mainly for MP3 (daily) and Internet, namely checking news pages.
I barely use it for video clips, and I havn't used Go Messenger yet, but having all these possibilities, I have to say, the PSP is a pretty decent gadget.
