Well if you want an MP3 player and a video player get an Ipod Video. It will hold WAY more songs and movies than the PSP will ever be able to.

I doubt they will be making a new one anytime soon. The psp is a strong handheld and in my opinion is better than the ds(I own both).

if you are really looking for a mp3 player and video device the run far far away from the psp, the largest memory stick out there right now is 4gb that is TINY. buy some thing elese along the lines of an Ipod video. If you arent going to play games on the psp Do NOT buy one

Yeah, but I beliveve 8GB sticks are on the way and what about the casual movie listeners? I don't like the iPod video's screen at all, I have no problems managing my content on my 4GB stick from time to time.

Well then I guess you could put use into the PSP, but I don't know if you will like it. If you want a lot of music and movies it will be hard to manage, but I guess you can do it.

Um...the 8gb cards are already out guys... Check BestBuy.com or other retailers...they are $179.99 (on sale) right now. They've been out for a while now...  It's been announced that 16gb and 32gb cards would follow later down the road.

After buying both a DS and a PSP i can honestly say the PSP is a much stronger handheld. Everything on the DS seems to be geared towards a much younger audience and therefore makes all the games seem cheesy. The PSP has wireless internet, the ability to play movies music and games, and has a huge library of excellent games. I bought my DS first and thought it was cool untill i bought a PSP and realize what a handheld could do. It will blow your mind how good the games look on such a tiny (relatively) device.  I would highly recomend getting one, especially at the new price (169.99 cdn)

Is Sony designing a new PSP? Uhhh...yeah...obviously...we're talking about electronics here. They ALWAYS get upgraded one way or another. Should that discourage you from getting a PSP? Absolutely not.

First off, I love my PSP. I don't use it nearly as much as I could or should use it, but I love it nonetheless. It is absolutely perfect to have when you're on the go. I have a 4 GB stick and have plenty of space for tons of music, movies, and games. The biggest problem for the PSP is the "lack of games." That's a load of hogwash though...There are very respectable amount of good games available on PSP. The only reason why nobody says anything is because it's not Pokemon and it's not Halo. WHO CARES?

How does portable God of War sound? I'm absolutely giddy about the fact that they're making this game. It'll be the first PSP game I'm buying in almost a year. I also have a PS3 and an Xbox 360 so I mean...the amount of money I put into PSP games is pretty small..

Portable Final Fantasy in 16:9 with re-vamped graphics? Awesome! I will also pick up a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics. I can't think of a more perfect game to have on a portable system.

The PSP has gone down in price considerably since launch. If you do your research, for about $250, you should be able to pick up a new PSP, 4 GB of memory, and a game. There are many programs out there that can help rip and convert music and movies that can be transferred onto the PSP. PSP Video 9 is an example of this. It's free. For Mac users like me, for $15, PSP Ware does all of this too....

PSP is seriously a whole lot better than people give it credit for. It's a big boy's toy. I was thinking about getting a DS like everyone else, but after seeing what the PSP has to offer...I realize...why would I ever get a DS?

Plus, if you do your research, you can play just about ANY classic Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis game on your PSP. FOR FREE! I bet your Nintendo DS can't do that.

ok so he has to pay 179 dollars for 8gb its a bit of a ripoff but if you really want to play movies on that thing then go ahead and buy one, admittedley the Ipods screen is very small, so if you have 170 laying around for it and 180 laying around for that supposed 8gb memory stick then go for it

Yeah dont get a PSP unless you want the games that are out for it.   The iPod is much better for mp3s and video playback, can also hook up to your TV to play your video.

The psp's been out for two years, I expect it to last this much again if not longer, games havent unlocked its full potential and there actually aren't that many amazing games. Now the ps3 has been launched, Sony will finally give the psp some attention. What with the new download service and store, it will last a lot longer.

ok so i guess im not gonna get a PSP anymore...Some of you guys suggested me to get something like an ipod Video. I was wondering is it possible to upload DVD's to a computer then upload them on to an ipod? Or are you just forced to buy Videos from the itunes store? If it is possible to upload DVD's(im guessing it is) what type of program would you use?

Thanks, again
