So ive been reading some topics about the rumoredPSP 4000 and noticed that there are a lot of people saying "im just glad the psp hasa fewmore years left in it". Was there ever any rumors of sony discontinuing PSP's? Hell, i still havent even been able to play a bunch of the games i wanted.

Can someone just fill me in on all this nonesense?

With the PSPgo just coming on and the 4000 rumor i think it's safe to say a new PSP is coming for a few year, Sony is more focused on the PS3 right now.

Witch is good cus i just got a PSP3000 yesterday!

'grats to the new PSP :D

As far as games are concerned, it seems to be slowing down an awful lot. Which bums me out cuz the PSP is my main console right now.

Well, most consoles get a 5 year lifecycle and March of next year will mark 5 years for the PSP. If Sony is going to release an updated PSP, it means that they're not likely to announce a PSP2 at the same time. Since a PSP2 would need at least 6 months between unveiling and release, it means we have easily a year of full PSP support.

We have another year with the PSP as Sony's main handheld, at minimum. When PSP 2 launches the PSP will still get support as their secondary system for a while- as they did with PS1/2/3.

I had a PSP 1000 and I never used it. I decided to upgrade it to 3000 and try out this 'better screen' in hopes of getting into the system but I simply never played it. There are hardly any games I like for it and it was just never anything to get excited about of think, hey this would be a great time to dust off the PSP :( its unfortunate because it has alot of potential. Im eager to see this 'PSP 4000' and I would most likely buy a PSP 2 when it eventually arrives.

I wouldn't worry too much- Sony's still backing the PSP- and they will be for quite a while longer (since the PSP 4000 is rumored to be on the way)

I wouldn't expect an actual PSP2 until 2012- at the very earliest.
