I use mine as an mp3 player, You can throw all your music on it but ifyour gonna seperate the songs, I'm pretty sure you can make folders and put the music on seperate folders, I'm not positive though.

Yes, and I found it out on accident, that when I dragged a whole directory on that included a *.pls or *.m3u to my PSP it actually followed the playlist order of these files. Still I don't know any specifics, but it seems to work.

actually i've been wondering about this too, and now that i saw this topic i decided to try it out. and it works. what you have to do is go to the game folder and right click, go to new and create a new folder. and put whatever music you want inside of it.

if you people just go to playstation.com it will tell you everything that you need to do and need to have. i use mine as a mp3 player because i don't like apple ipods. you can separate your music by band, but you can't separate it again by album.

You can do it using the Media Go application.

The PSP is a great console , not a mp3 player. It lacks many things like a real equaliser and if you dont push (home) or ( /\ ) youll probably change the song while putting your PSP in your pocket

You could just use the lock, you know push down on the power switch.

Thats even more annoying. I usually end up turning my PSP off while trying to release it. I have accepted the harsh truth that the PSP is just not that good as a MP3 player...

I've found a way to stop that. Use two hands on the unlock switch very carefully.

I guess all there really is to say is the PSP was made to be a hand held gaming console. BUT it is optional to have it s an MP3. I also think the PSP should be made with a hold switch all it's own so you don't end up turning it off if you want to take it off hold.

The PSP works great as an MP3 player. I like it a lot better than my mom's ipod... Perhaps it doesn't have as many features but it's much easier to use imo. Play lists can be created using Media Go, and I think on PS3 (you can transfer them to PSP).

The PSP's MP3 player might not have playlists, but it's much better than the PS3's music features in most ways. I usually just specific Albums in folders, and sometimes genres. After a while, I get used to the exact order of my own music, but I must admit it's not very intuitive for newcomers.

While I don't personaly reccomend using the PSP as such, it works. I'm not sure about the 3000 (though it should be the same), but my PSP Go has a built in playlist function that I can create through media go

I use mine as an MP3-player too. For me there's not much too it. I just have albums of mp3s and then drag them to the music-folder and there they are. The only thing that I miss is making playlists ON the psp. You can't do that and the media go is just too much hassle for me really. But other than that, it's fine! I use it everyday.
