So I want to buy a psp 3000 but the Go is coming out october. Will there be a price drop for the 3000 series when the Go comes out? If so I'll make the effort to wait.

It is not likely that they will drop the price of the 3000.

Seeing how Sony are not replacing the 3000 with the Go, there will probably be no price drop.

No official price drop will happen, but some retailers might drop the price to sell some old units. A lot of places did this w/ the 2000 models.

^^ yup what the anime guy said :P Certain stores might sell some of their stock but it is very doubtful that they would do an official one.

I don't think you'll see a PSP 2 for a few years yet. I'm thinking Sony is "phasing" us into all digital entertainment with the PSP brand.

1st came digital on UMD...

2nd comes PSP Go, essentially a PSP without UMD able to play digital downloads (probably some of which are current UMD titles as well as some PS1 titles)

Future will bring us the PSP 2 (complete with at lesat 32-64 GB of digital storage, touch screen and a 2nd analog stick) and will support a complete digital library of past, current and future PS1 / PS2 / PSP titles

Sony isn't about to release a PSP 2 without letting the current PSP and the PSP Go run their cycle in the market.

Just my 2 cents.

"Homer... are you making beer in our bathtub?!?!?!" she asksangrily

"Oh, Marge... I'm not gonna lie to you..." as he stares are her expressionless without speaking anything else

Get the 3000, it takes UMDs and there is no limit on flash space.
