PSP on TV or PC screen

How can I simply play my psp on my Sony1080p TV, or PC monitor? I bought the component cable with the red/white/blue and the green/blue/red connections..but whenever I try to play a game on the TV inout it says "use component cable"

Do I have to download firmware and do all that stuff to even play it on a TV?

Any easy way to play it on the PC monitor?

component cables are the following colors: red, green, blue, red & white. only those 5. those are the true component cables. plus, they have to be ones that work with a PSP 2000 series. which means, the component cables you have better say that they work with the PSP 2000 series otherwise it won't work.
