The short answer would be - get a laptop.
When watching movies on the psp I do not use umd movies mainly b/c it's almost less of a hassle to rip a dvd to my computer and then save it onto my psp. If you are not interested in going through that process then the laptop would be your best bet.
Also the internet on the psp is not comparable to how you view the internet on the computer. On the psp it is limited and slow. Although this works fine for viewing email, and perhaps blogs and such, it is not good for much else.
What would be better about getting a psp. Well its smaller, it will probably have a longer battery life then your laptop. You can keep it in your pocket, and it doesn't emit hot air like a laptop would. Also, you don'thave to install games onto it.
If you want to buy a laptop equipped to play recent and upcoming games, be prepared to spend $2000+...Funkyhamster
are you serious ....that much cash?????

I always liked gaming on my desktop computer because the desktop processors and GPU's are much better than mobile.
If i want to go mobile i take my psp. It's hard to lie down on your back in bed with your laptop lol
This is like asking "Do I want a Ford GT ($100,000) or a Ford Mustang ($30,000)? We are talking about a huge price difference and two completely different machines. Sure both are sports cars but it's what you want out of your machine.
It all comes down to price. $170 for a PSP or anywhere from $1800 to $2200 for a laptop for high end gaming. If you want casual gaming on a laptop you can settle for one about $1300 range, but expect to pay top dollar for a gaming laptop.
Since im going to college the laptop is the obvious choice, but if you stay at home and have a desktop, then a laptop is pointless and go for a PSP.
It's all about your situation, money, and what you want. Ultimately it is your decision.
