I suggest if you're going to get a PSP get atleast a 1GB memory stick. The PSP comes with about 32MB of memory with it, thats enough to have like 100 game saves. But if you want to put on themes, wallpapers, music, videos, download games, you're going to need more room.
lol in Malaysia we not buy UMD to play psp game because too expensive we will buy some games then save to our memory stick then play through memory stick so our memory stick must have 4 GB i think :)
More and more games are being released through the PlayStaytion Store, so I suggest getting a 2GB or larger memory stick. They're getting cheaper and cheaper all the time.

u r from malaysia?? i'm from Swk...not rich...barely hv money to put gas on my car...but love video games very much(especially handheld like PSP,Game Boy etc..) but i do not support game PIRACY! get UMD's game! or download them legally from PSN...
Yes, the PSP needs a memory stick to save games. If you just want to save games, and perhaps have some videos and music on your PSP, I reccomend the 2 GB or 4 GB memory card. If you want to purchase games and movies for your PSP, I reccomend the 8 GB memory card which is about $80.
The biggest memory card I can find for the PSP is the 16 GB, which is about $170, almost the price of a new PSP.
A memory stcik is basically for saving anything onto the psp.. I think you should get one instead of having to restart all over everytime you play a game.
