Nintendo always redesigns their handhelds shortly after the original's release because the original always look like crap, the PSP doesn't have that problem.
I don't think they need to redesign it at all. I would say that the PSP is one of the best designed electronic devices ever, right up there with the iPod. The DS really needed a redesign. When you picked it up, you could just tell that there was a lot of extra room inside the plastic shell of the console. The PSP is packed very tightly into that little sexy package and it doesn't need to change one bit, other than giving it other colors (mmm, glossy red PSP)
Absolutely no way, it shouldn't be resigned. See, if Nintendo had spent time thinking about attractiveness when they made their DS they wouldn't try to "update" it a year later. White looks cool, but I like the sleek black better.
psp doesnt need a re-design... if they do re-design it... it might go smaller just so they can try to get it to fit in ur pocket completely like the Micro.Â
and as for the DS.... the new design isn't necessarily that good because the system is heavy as is because of the two screens. Now try to fit that in someone's hands that are big, there is a lot of cramping going on. As cool as the new re-design looks, i like my original one.
i doubt there will be because it already well disgned and theres not much stuff they can improve on(cept the dual anologs PLZ) if there was dual analogs it would screw up the old games so i unno
The PSP already looks great. The only redesign (in the short term) would be different colors. I can't believe how a different color could sell more units....but the DS has already shown that to be true.
now that nintendo has made the ds lite does anyone know if psp will try a redesign personally i think the psp is beautiful and shouldnt be changedenemymob
Most likely it will be changed but not for some time. I give it 2 good yeras before sony even decides to change it. The PSP is leading the way for Portables and the DS doesn't even compare to the capability of the PSP. There are already different color PSP's coming out and Yes theres white.......
enetually maybe, but if they do, itll be after 3-4 years, like the ps2, i didnt think they could make the ps2 look much better when it came out, it looked all expensive, and you wouldnt have known it was a console just by looking at it. but then they maed a new one, that looked better, and worked better

I sometimes find that i have to cramp my two index fingers to press the shoulder buttons though. They should fix the shoulder button placement and the overall design, and most importantly.. the weight.
If and when it is redesigned, it will have the same amount of buttons and analog sticks as the PS2 controller... its an obvious step. Sony is smart.. they release a crappy version of the PSP but we all think its amazing, then they pull out the PSP2 and we go even more crazy to buy that... its a smart move on their part, and its obvious that that's what will happen...
This is a nice change from the usual daily posting, you know, the "I read there's gonna be a PSP redessign with flash memory and two analogue sticks" type.Â
Personally, I'm happy with the PSP I have. It looks great in black, it works great and it's tough as nails (I've dropped it twice, pretty hard, and no ill effects -- I'm not gonna chance droping it a third time, tough), and I've got all the storage space I need on memory sticks. Of course I'd upgrade if a redesign came out, but like I say, I'm not unhappy with the device as it is now.Â

i'm beginning to think nintendo is doing it intentionally. GBA was horrible and DS had bad issues too. No way could they have missed it during testing.

Exactly right, which is why Nintendo always has like 5 or more versions of the same handheld. But, what can be said about that is, it's also what has kept Nintendo in the handheld market for so long, cause people are willing to shell out the cash for newer models. Sony doesn't need 3 different models of the PSP, there just fine with multiple colors of the PSP. I agree that the PSP is fine as is. I don't worry about a redesign of the PSP, cause if Sony figured a redesign would help sales, they would've started announcing plans for a redesign, and since they haven't done so, it's a safe bet that Sony feels the design is fine as is.
