I recently had a Sony PSP, and I ended up returning it, because of the lack of use. Now that I am headed off to college and I am going to do quite a bit of traveling I am interested on buying the new psp. I someone could just help me out with some of the questions that I have regaurding the psp that would be great! 1) When will the new PSP be coming out? 2) How thin will it be? 3) What is the estimated price 4) Is there anything else I should know about it?

I'll answer them

  1. Sometime in September
  2. 19% slimmer than the old one
  3. Standalone = same price as old. Entertainment Packs = $200
  4. 64 mb on board RAM for better load times. And I read somewhere that if you use the old battery you have the "advertised" longer battery life

But you need a different battery cover for the 'old' PSP battery to fit in the slim, right?

So I've read. Supposedly it will have a bulge when you use the old battery. :(

Oh, I believe the date is Sept. 10th.

I read that on IGN, but I think Japan gets it on the 20th, so IGN must be wrong, Sony haevn't said anything about Japan getting last (I[european] get it first:D)...

So... it was probablly said a hundred times that a PSP 2 was coming, out but did it? No, it didn't and isn't even in the making. IGN is a verypopular source but have been known to go wrong at times.
