Your PSP does an automatic update once you go online, no reason if you should not allow the update, unless you have a PS3.

Version 3.51 - Revisions to strengthen security have been added. (The famous Lumines hack)

Version 3.52 - Revisions to strengthen security have been added.- The number of PLAYSTATION Network titles that can be played under [Game] has increased.

I would say no because then you cant modify it. and that's kinda half the reason why the Psp is soo coollondoxleed

Downgraders, Non PS1 emulation, ROMs and homebrew - We can not talk about here.

Duh dude, it's asking if you want to install it because it's there, how else would you knowit's there toinstall it if it didn't notify you? Clearly you don't HAVE to install it - go online and read the GD release notes on it and decide for yourself, some games require a certain level of firmware, some don't, and some firmware just gives you extra functionality - you gotta do some research before you bombard the forums with questions.

He said you don't have to install the update if you don't want to, and if you don't know what firmware is then read the GD notes.....learn to read things clearly before you jump to conclusions lexlas...all though i have to disagree with ringbling here also, the PSP forum is basicly made for questions about the system :D

Like I said it never notified me to upgrade to 3.50 or 3.51 this is a first. So I decide to ask, i thought maybe it was something everyone was getting, like a really important upgrade or something. Excuse me for taking up one space of the forum comments out of 311 ? J*** Of*

well its good you asked then, don't listen to ringbling there.....but that update isn't really important so you don't need to worry about it :D

If your not going custom then there is no reason not to have the latest firmware on your PSP.
