psp suported mp4 reoulutions

i know the psp only playes mp4 video formats but i noticed if you change the resolution it wont pay some mp4.

so my qustion is do you know the mp4 resoultion that the psp can play

Currently there is no way to encode for the full 480x272 resolution of the PSP (and have it play it), Sony has locked that out.

you can try other resolutions that is lower than 480x792

Also, if you want certain MP4 videos on get them in iPod format. Looks good on the PSP screen size and resolution. I use torrent.

The latest firmware from Sony now allows you to encode at the highest resolution (I think...I set it a while back), plus it lets you put all movies into a /VIDEO folder. I use the latest version of PSP Video 9 (free) and I think it encodes at the full resolution. The commercial program I bought still hasn't upgraded to take into account the latest firmware from Sony though. I still use that on movies that PSP V9 chokes on.

As you've already noted, the PSP doesn't handle every resolution. You need specific ones. I use a laptop to encode, not my ancient desktop so I can't tell you the resolutions.

i use a diffent program it haves alot of choises for to encode mp4s at can you do me a favor and go to you highest mp4 resoulution video, press traiangle, information and post back with the resoulution it would be much aprecated

480 x 272 (widescreen) is my settings for PSP Video 9.
