pretty sure there is guys i heard if you get a trojan or w/e it will brick it!LeviHohenfeldt
Okay, you're right. I just found this on google :D:
"Today Symantec Security Response experts identified the first Trojan that targets Sony Playstation Portable systems, Trojan.PSPBrick, as a Category 1 threat (Category 5 being the worst). As of today, there are no confirmed infections, and we'd like to keep it that way!
The virus is designed to look like a downloadable hack that lets users run their own games on the PSP. Once installed, it deletes system files and breaks the PSP. The user must choose to download it - which means you're safe if you don't go around taking files from strangers."
So it can be avoided pretty easily, so no biggie really.Â
There are small viruses that you can get from just searching naughty sites just like on a computer. Nothing big though; most only make your screen move up and down and stuff and mess up your button configuration. :P

Your PSP can't catch anything from using the web browser, no matter what websites you visit every night.Â

the ONLY way to get a "virus" is by downloading it possibly disguised as a game or downgrader and then running it from your game folder.and also, when you download that game to your PC it gives out a bad Downloader virus, andthen when you put in on your PSP it bricks it aswell.
thats it.
oh and they "brick" your psp. google it.theICE_MAN

yes it can its just like a computer you can catch viruses on it so i would be careful!LeviHohenfeldt
is that covered by the PSP Warranty
As far as I know the only PSP virus you can get is when you try to downgrade your PSP if you get your downgrader from a bad website it can brick your PSP.KnightsofRound
That's pretty much correct. There isn't really any "viruses", just .... for lack of a better term, brickers. One or two EBOOTs designed specifically to brick the system. Also, certain homebrew mod/apps can brick your system if not used properl. Official stuff (updates downloaded from sony, game demos) will not have the risk of damaging your system. The ones that do have the risk, you have to manually start them from the GAME section of the XMB. So it's impossible to accidentally mess it up, unless your futzing with your system trying to hax it or something
