I think this is way to much, not so much the device, but all the accessories and memory cards. What do you all think?

I agree, you could drop $350.00 to $400.00 just to get the system and a cuople of games and memory card. But I think in the long run it will be worth it for me. Which I am doing today !

The system itself is not alot, Nintendo fans tried to defend the 3DS at a $350 price, the cards themselves HOWEVER do indeed cost way too much. Its the launch they will likely drop soon.

PSVita is at the correst price for what it offers. OLED screen, touch pad, touch screen, software, hardware, etc.

Old video games going out as much as $39.99.

Games that should have never been $39.99.

Games over $49.99 for a handheld.

32 gig for $99.99 when the 32gig SD is $30.

WTF, SONY?

And How are you so sure sony will allow Third parties to make memory Cards? If Sony wants to make most of the money they won't allow Third parties to make Memory Cards. Or They can allow them to make Memory Cards but it will come out at about the same cost because they would have to pay sony fees for the Privilege of selling Vita Memory cards. So they would factor that into the Cost.

Its funny because i remember paying $70 for a 8mb PS2 memory card back in the day. I also remember SD cards at EB games being priced at over $100 for 1gb and over $200 for 2gb at the launch of the PSP.

Can't justify the price of the memory card, rather wait till then..however HOPEFULLY I can fit Gravity Rush on my 4GB card.

This is why I never buy handhelds and consoles at launch anymore. I just sweep up all the reduced games on the old machines and wait for that inevitable price drop.

Same here. I hated it when I filled up a PS2 memory card because back then I didn't want to delete my saves. the last SD card I bought for my PSP was a 8gb and I paid $49 for it. That kind of dumb of me to get it since I don't really play on it now. I have 3 games today I play on it.

The prices of the memory cards are laughable. However, there are workarounds. For example, amazon is offering a 4gb memory card with a WIFI Vita. Pair that with a $30 8GB memory and i think you are all set. Game prices are just right and the accessories, when they are proprietary, cost that much for all devices in the market (Apple Smart Cover for example).

The price of the Vita and the games are fine to me. Of the $250/$300/$350 versions out there, all of them are perfectly priced for what you get (I went with the FEB; couldn't be happier).

As for the memory card prices, yeah, they're not cheap, but new memory cards have always been expensive. Remember when the PS2 cards came out? PSP cards? Those were also pretty bad, so this isn't unheard of, nor a first.

Memory cards aren't a big concern to me as someone who buys Vita games at retail, so the 4gb that came with my FEB will be perfect for a while. I'll eventually get a bigger one, but, since you can transfer content to/from the PC/PS3 quickly and easily, I'm in no hurry.

I will agree with the memory cards. But this is a powerful piece of tech, and I think it's worth the price. Let's also not forget that the PSP was 250 back in 2005....

Yep the PSvita is expensive. but I bought one anyway. The memory cards are the personal point of contention. Sony should at least keep packing in the 4GB memory with every PSvita

I think for the power it packs, the device itself is a pretty excellent deal and I think most of the games are reasonable in price, but the memory cards are completely ridiculous. There's no reason, other than Sony currently being the only manufacturer, that these cards have to be so expensive. I"m going to buy a 4GB or 8GB for now in the hopes that prices will drop when I need to upgrade.

You may be talking about a cheap 32gb SD Card not a good one. A good SD card with high read speed cost much more. HERE'S THE PROOF, TAKE A LOOK:

There you have it! 16gb for $59.99 just like the PSVita.

That's cause Radioshack is overcharging for that card. Amazon has the same brand card but faster read/write speeds over the card offered at radioshack. And it's less than 18 dollars. I think the 249 price on the Wifi model is actually really reasonable, the problem lies in the game prices and the memory cards.

The games are too expensive, so the alternative is to download them for cheaper. To download them you need a ridiculously overpriced memory card. Seriously, wth.

WOW! FACEPAL! Dude I hope you don't take my comment seriously but your implication is totally wrong. Take a look carefully on the top of the $21.25 you will see that the MANUFACTURER RETAIL PRICE IS $75.99. THE ONE SELLING IT IS NOT AMAZON, IT IS A SELLER. For any unknown reason it is selling them at that price.

Maybe he's been with them a long time and want to clear the stock of them or else. All in all the real price is $75.99 if you get it from amazon.com or a mortal retail store. Oh and he's not selling it for less than 18 like you are saying.
