I don't know whether all PSPs do this every once in a while but mine does it ALOT. I have a good connection with 100% strength then I start playing online and it disconnects after a little while.Sometimes it doesn't do this but it does most of the time. Sometimes when I scan for a connection I get something that says no acess point detected then I scan again 9in the same spot right near the router) and I get 100% again. Any help?

Well it is possible there is something wrong with the psp, but it is more likely that the router you are using is unable to handle the network conditions when the psp is connected. This is likely to occur if any form of encryption is being used, or several other networking devices are connected to the device at one time. However, with some cheaper routers, neither of those conditions are necessary for it to fail.

If the router really is the problem then of course the you have limited solutions depending on the situation. You can try turning off encrytpion, disconnecting other networking devices, or finally buying a better router.

That happened to my PSP 2000 and it finally died on Tuesday. :| I would have 100% signal strength but it refused to connect even though the other PSP in my house worked fine. I finally got rid and got a 3000 yesterday.

Sometimes if your neighbour also has wifi router - his signal can interfere with yours. Try to use channel 6 instead 11 or eventually channel 1 (router and all devices connected to it). I had many disconnections, even with my Mac. After changing CH11 to CH6 problem disappeared.
