though anything is possible a E3...and a psp2 would be cool
i really dont see it happening ...more like a psp phone of some sort
but i would gladly be proven wrong with a psp2 announcement
i think they should wait one more year before doing that because they just released the go last year.
I'd bet money they'll announce it. They know how important being first is, I don't think they'd let E3 go without a proper response to the 3DS.
What?! What about FF Agito XIII and all the other games that are still in development for the PSP?
The PSP 2 should be released some other time like in 2013 or 2014.

That's a bunch of crap, the PS2 had games in development for it in 2007, the PS3 came out in 2006, your argument is invalid.

It still seems kind of rushed.

No it is not rushed, handhelds have a smaller life span then home consoles, plus Sony made some great games for the ps2 only months before the announcement of the ps3, plus with the new 3DS which will have much better graphics and other features being showed off in e3 2010, if they don't show psp2 then they will be finished. No it is not rushed, handhelds have a smaller life span then home consoles, plus Sony made some great games for the ps2 only months before the announcement of the ps3, plus with the new 3DS which will have much better graphics and other features being showed off in e3 2010, if they don't show psp2 then they will be finished.The_Cygan
Has this been actually confirmed? I'll have to definitely keep an eye out for the 3DS in the Nintendo Conference.

Yeah handhelds have a smaller life span then home consoles. What about the Gameboy, lunch in the 1989 and the succesor was lunch in 1998? Seriously if they lunch a PS2 it will cost like $250 the same as a GO without nothing. There are even a lot of people that can't buy a PSP 3000 and some like you only thing of the next more expensive thing to come. Just have fun with what you have at the moment there are a lot of great games comining to the PSP plus the 3DS may end up being just a Nintendo made PSP. Look at the Wii, nothing close to the PS3 or 360.i sort of wonder if the psp 2 will be full digital distribution like the Go. IMO, digital distribution does seem to make more practical sense on a handheld as opposed to a console. Games are smaller, no need to carry around discs, handheld can be made more portable, etc. As long as sony kept the price of games reasonable and competitive (I kno, thats a big IF), I'd be all for full digital distribution for the next handheld.
I dont think so. With Peace Walker and Ghost of Sparta coming, it would be dumb of Sony to kill the original PSP.

Why is it that every gen lasts about 5 years and even when we have our 5 year old systems people try to argue and complain against something new? The PSP has less graphics power than Zune HD. Zune is a music player with MINI GAMES, those are not real games! Why should we go along with having our former handheld power house looking like garbage next to a music player! Announcements don't mean that the system is there that day either. We don't know how long developement for this has been, so there is no way we can say this has been rushed or hasn't been. I know that the systems right now are all good but every 5 years things are stale not only in the graphics department, almost everything is a sequel now days. There is no reason why Sony couldn't keep up with the competition and if they have less to put out about their system then that's what it is but I'm sure many of us would be happy to see something or at least hear something.
Wow kid you think everything is about graphics. Look at the DS. Current PSP graphics are ok for a handheld. What the PSP needs are new and better games. Kids these days thing everything is about graphics without noticing that old games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 stil are popular and people still play them because they are fun.Why is it that every gen lasts about 5 years and even when we have our 5 year old systems people try to argue and complain against something new? Wow no need to carry games around. How many games do you play at a time kid? Are you ganna pay every owner an internet connection, a Modem? Do you really prefer to wait still a game is downloded, install it and lost the option to sell, lend it to someone or bring it to a friend house?i sort of wonder if the psp 2 will be full digital distribution like the Go.
