I think Sony will drop the original PSP like a rock. Its already not seeing enough attention, so why spend some on it when their shiny new system will be out. Better start saving kids! Personally I can't wait. I've been gaming the sh** out of my PSPGO.

I find that a bit hard to believe, since they've gradually phased out all their systems with the rise of a new one, the PS2 just shows to have the most love out of them all.PSP has a lot of games for it, but you have to look for it...it's not the sort of thing they'd do on the PSN store to once the new system launches, BAM, all their PSP1 content is gone. There are still games to be imported here, and some aren't even on the map.
Nintendo keeps their systems well supported until the newer system is big enough on sales to stand on its own. With how Sony started into the game marketbecause of Nintendo backstabbing them with the whole 'Play Station CD Add-on to the Super Nintendo', they take their competitor very seriously. It's not like Sony, with the scorn like that of a woman's (not trying to be sexist here, just saying angry women freak me the f*** out), is not going to make any rash movements until the new system can stand on it's own...sure, it's mimicry to a degree, but it's also sound business thinking.
Besides...the classic games are classics because they're amazing, surely a good deal of the PSP titles out there like Crisis Core, from Square-Enix's massively hyped Final Fantasy VII franchise (don't get me wrong, I played all the games, love 'em to death...I just hate new fans to the series that claim VII is the best without playing any of the other games to properly judge it against the other games in the series)...or like God of War, where testosterone oozes from Kratos' sweaty man boobs...surely, we can milk the nipples of the God of War for more creamy money-in-the-pocket-for-Sony goodness? The PSP has several essential titles for some massive franchises; Metal Gear, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy...and I'm only naming the ones I like.
Sure there are simul releases...but the PSP has not been the target of these things.
