[QUOTE="ThePlothole"][QUOTE="Coolyfett"] Hardcore Gamers are a funny group lol...We have the PSP 2000 & a PSP 2? that makes no sense to the average consumer. Sony has too be able to separate the systems easily. Calling it a PSP2 only makes sense to the hardcore PSP crowd that already knows the system..PSP 1000 is the PSP1 right? so the PSP 2000 is a PSP1 also right? And the PSP 3000 is a PSP1 right? The PSP Go is a PSP1 right? So we have 4 different PSP1s???? Cmon yall.
Look at the DS GROUP.. you Have DS, DS Lite, DSi & 3DS...did Nintendo call it a DS2??? Noooooo, because techically it is not. They name their devices based on features and styles. The Lite was lighter, the DSi had the eye/camera added, the 3DS will feature 3D. The game cards will be the same size. The 3DS has only 2 drives the SD CARD & game card drives, meaning DS carts & 3DS carts go in the same port.
Calling the next PSP the PSP2 would be a terrible mistake, and create confusion. for the casual consumer.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Sony themselves ever marketed it as the "PSP-2000" or "PSP-3000". If you look at the packaging here in the states it simply says PSP / PlayStation Portable. I know that in the UK they market the 2000 and 3000 as the "PSP Slim & Lite", adding the words "with enhanced screen + built in microphone" to the 3000 box.
exactly. even to people i know who don't keep track of it know the different psps as. slim or slimmer. or even phat. so PSP2-1000 PSP2-2000 seem like the way to go. IF it were called the PSP2
