no way. I dont want a phone that plays games. I like my psp2000 just fine. i like my little folding phone that fits in my front pocket just fine. I dont get why people spend so much on fancy "smart phones." I think it's actually stupid to pay so much $$$ for something that has a primary purpose of calling and texting (which my $20 phone does just fine). oh and i would rather not pay $30/month EXTRA to have a data plan either. using wifi to download for free on my psp is just fine.

I kinda like the idea but will only purchase it if they upgrade the gaming hardware and make it something more than the GO. Otherwise i see no point of it for people who have cell phones and a PSP.

The idea is good but I don't think the ergonomics will be perfect. Imagine after hours of gaming your phone will have a battery of 2/3hours which is not a good thing if you can't have your charger with you. I think it's better for them to stay focus on the hardware and the design of the PSP and to increase it instead of try to find some tools to try to refresh its image.

Really not liking this idea. It seems like another effort by Sony to create a hand-held that will eventually end up failing.

Either Sony will launch this phones like the PSP Go just to experiment or they are going the route of every other Nintendo rival which is retiring from portables dedicated to videogames. If the later is true it will be pretty sad because the PSP is a very capable handheld with great games.

This is not another "N-Gage" is it? I already have a phone, so "no thank you Sony." I want a dedicated gaming system. So.....I will stick to my PSP 1001.

From the details in that article it doesn't sound like this would run existing PSP games, or even have the same hardware capabilities as a PSP.

Also, the way Sony tends to price their downloadable games, I have a hard time believing that they would want to directly compete with the existing Android market.

I just want a new psp thats not a phone that is powerful enough to play Rage like the iphone 4 can. I want a new dedicated gaming device and not a smart phone with gaming input. For one thing gaming wont be 1st priority in a psphone like it should and I would hate to play a boss battle thats intererupted because my mom or wife called.
