I just got my PSP.  I also have a PS3.  How do they work together?  Is it possible to watch UMD's through the PS3?

Right now the connectivety is nothing to get excited about, all you can do is watch your video files etc.on your PSP with remote play, the more annoying thing though is while your at this, your PS3 basically goes into shut down, which seems daft considering the proposed power it has. And other than that all you can do is hook your psp up with a USB cable just like any other portable storage device.

Right now there are not many options as above dude listed. However, you can play crappy PS1 games on the PS3 online store on your PSP but homebrew is recommended over this.

However, in the future, they might integrate the PSP in games, like controlling Otacons droid with your PSP in MGS4, using the PSP as a rear view mirror in gran turismo 5, etc.

I controlling that thing in MGS4 would be kind of stupid. I mean you could see where it was going on the psp screen, but then again you could just use the ps3 controller and use your TV to see where it is going. The mirror thing sounds like a good idea but if you got a 60 inch TV trying to look at your psp on top would be a little hard. I heard something about the connecting thing where you like the ps3 in stand-by and then if you go to some wifi access point w/ the psp you could look at the content on your ps3. If they got that working, it would surprise me. Working Lag free that is.
