Auction 1

Auction 2

Why are these PSPs going for so much? Is there something special about these versions of the PSP? I'd like to know because I will soon be selling my PSP and if I can get some extra cash for mine that would be great(though knowing my luck, it probably won't happen :) )

There are a few more listings on ebay, but on all of these auctions I can't find anything noting why they are so much more valued.

Thanks!

I've read into this a little bit a while back. Apparently, a lot of scam artists do this and end up getting both the PSP sent to them and their money doesn't clear...thus they get a free PSP or whatever other item they are scamming. I can guarantee that no one is paying the price for this though, and either the seller will be keeping the console, or the buyer is a scammer ;) If you're PSP would happen to get to this price level, DO NOT SEND IT! ;)

Looks like someone bid a ridiculously high amount in an attempt to start a bidding war.

It happened to my PSP auction 2x, apparently Ebay is hacked & these hackers can make bids with user IDs' that they don't own so they can just bid until they want. These auction tend to get TKO notice due to bidding without the real users knowing it.
