So, I have been thinking: If I were to get PS Vita for myself anytime soon, what games you would recommend for me? I think having Killzone Mercenary would be interesting at least.

@LauriAJ:

My collection on memory stick started like this the first year:

Uncharted Golden Abyss

Persona 4 Golden

Gravity Rush

Borderlands 2

Kill zone Mercenaries

Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Amazing Spiderman

LittleBigPlanet Vita

To now this:

Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1, 2, 3, Producing Perfection, Action Unleashed, Blanc + Neptune vs. Zombies

Atelier Totori Plus, Ayesha Plus

Ultra Despair Girls Dangonronpa

Freedom Wars

Akiba's Trip

One Piece World Red

J Stars Victory Vs.

Valhalla Knights 2

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace

Soul Sacrifice Delta

Dead or Alive 5

Senran Kagura Shinovi vs., Estival Versus

Minecraft

-Notice the overwhelming abundance of anime games on the 2nd list. That's where the Vita market has shifted. Unless you like Indie games. At some point though, I would recommend you try these games somewhere down the line. Different genres from adventure to beat em ups, rpg's and fighting games of the like.

  • Persona 4 Dancing All Night
  • All the Hatsune Miku games
  • Al the Dangan Ronpa games

That's about all I'd recommend.

Depends on what you like? If you like JRPGs, you will find a lot like Persona 4 Golden, Disgaea games, Tales of Hearts R, the entire Atelier and Neptunia series, ...

a good deal of good games on here :)

A few additions, depending on if you had an old Playstation, and liked arcade games.

- The SEGA and CAPCOM Bundles are a must in my opinion, Corpse party blood drive, is also a good one.

- the MGS games are always good time killers as well :)

- Resogun

- Dragons Crown

- Street Fighter X Tekken (but beware of load times)

- Tear Away

- XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus

BTW: Anyone know why the **** the Mega Man collection is not on the Vita but on the PS4? that collection deserves to be on the Vita :(

The Vita is very underrated. While the Vita library is lacking, at least in the US, you also gain access to the PSN and PSP libraries. Franchise marathoning is great on the platform as well. I have a few full franchises on mine...

Persona: Persona 1, 2, 2.5, 3, and 4, Persona 4 Dancing,

Final Fantasy: Too many to list.

Metal Gear: All of them up to Ground Zeroes

Hyperdemension Neptunia: All of them.

Atelier Series: All of them from PS3 releases forward. (PS2 games have not been made available on the Vita as of yet.)

Disgaea Series: All of them.

My top recommendations from the Vita library are:

Uncharted

Tearaway

Muramasa

Gravity Rush

Soul Sacrifice Delta

Freedom Wars

I'd personally not buy a Vita. And I do own one myself. Unless you're BIG into JRPG's, there's just not enough games to warrant the purchase. I've recently picked up a 3Ds, and I would definitely pick that over the Vita, purely because it's got loads of games, many of which are fantastic.

The PS Vita is actually one of gaming's biggest 'what coulda been' because the actual console is fantastic. It just hasn't had the support to make it great.
