I received a PSVR as an anniversary gift. It is really awesome. I then decided to purchase PS4 Pro. I was excited to hook it up to my 4k HDR TV. For some reason it was not outputting 4k. After reading posts it turns out the PSVR unit does not pass the 4k signal through. This means that I have to disconnect and reconnect when I want to switch. This is CRAP! Sony needs to fix this. I read a couple posts suggesting a splitter box. I do not feel like I should have to buy an additional 50 dollar box to solve what should have been planned better by Sony.

No, you're wrong. While HDR isn't passed through, 4k is.

I actually do play on a Ps4 Pro with PsVr connected and my Tv does get a 4k signal.

(That HDR isn't passed through is a really bad factor, especially with Sony pushing HDR. I was hoping they'll fix it with the pro and have PsVr connection ports on the Pro itself. It's a shame it doesn't have it. Guess we can wait for a new model of this little box)

@ArchoNils2: Agree the issue is with HDR. This is still a crap solution when you are shelling out 800+ bucks and listening to the hype Sony is spouting about their tech. I do not want to have to unplug, re-plug HDMI cables to get HDR support. This became very evident with the Last Guardian that takes advantage of HDR support, but if the PSVR is connected that is not going to work. What happens when more games support HDR?

I expect Sony to sell a HDR-compatible box for VR and/or Sony to sell a PS4 where the VR box is already in the console

@ArchoNils2: Hopefully Sony will consider their early adopters and provide it at no cost like Microsoft did with the adapter for Kinect on the XBox 1S.

I haven't had great experiences with Sony support, so I doubt that'll happen

@ArchoNils2: Painful but true.
