Well, the PlayStation Fran-chaise is now the oldest going of sequels in a console brand, when PS1 came out, people laughed at it, and were more impressed with the Nintendo Console N64, running through a more and better colour refresh rate of 64bit, as PS1 was only 32bit.

However PS1 triumphed in its last years, then came its younger, newer better brother, the PlayStation 2, its stock was more rare then the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 combined, as Sony had feck all supply, and it was disliked as to the lack of games for it, LESS then PS3, however it again, triumphed in its last years.

I myself, was in awe of it, and had no games for launch, loved and played demos, watched DVDs on it, which was incredible, the first time I got a game was in fact close to the beginning of Feb, end of Jan, Star wars star-fighter. Loved it, played and completed it entirely, however through the playing of PS1, nearing its end right b4 PS2 I loved my PC, then PS2 took over, and the PC was no match.

Now through this, I didn't have the Internet, I didn't have a clue what was going on in the marketing world, and ya know what I didn't care, but unfortunately time makes fools of us all, and being human that I am, I'm on here now, talking about the PS3. Now my PC has taken over again, but I haven't played a single game on it, IN AGES, PS3 will be my gaming area for a while, then eventually PC will take over again.

PS3 is disliked by loads of people, and its not the price thats been pissing people off, its the amount of delays, people were more hyped for this then their new born baby back in Feb 06.

But unfortunately Microsoft came along and made the XBOX, people liked it, but it didn't have a lot of exclusives, and neither does the xbox360, it has exclusives, more then the xbox, but still no were near the amount on the PS3, and no more PS3 exclusives will be going over to MS as MGS4 Cant, Hideo stated, and FF wont, Square Enix are too loyal. FF11 did go to the 360 and Flopped.

So what are you saying? Are you saying that Sony has a PROVEN track record of console gaming success. Are you saying that history will repeat itself? Sounds good to me. Sony's got a great machine and they have a strategy. Unfortunately for the fanboys out there, that strategy doesn't involve some crazy unrealistic goal of selling 25 million consoles a month. The strategy does include patience, and waiting for the developers ideas to catch up to the technology. When the power of the PS3 is unleashed it will absolutely smoke the competition. That will leave the competition with no choice but to come up with a NEW gaming machine that is comparable in power to the PS3. THe only problem with that is that it will be new, so developers won't have a lot of games for it right away, and it will be released witha high price, right around the time that the PS3 is having its first or second price drop.

One correction- Sony isn't the longest running console franchise. That goes to Nintendo, starting with the NES back in 1984.

That notwithstanding, these days the name that comes to mind when mentioning videogames now is, more often than not, PlayStation. Despite what the doomsayers/ fanboys may think odds are good they'll be around for some time to come.

MS just want a bit of the money, they dont want Sony to destory their gaming franchaise, PC, so make a console, the first one bad, the second has still not outsold the Xbox, so MS liers.

exactly, they know what the score is, unfortunately the price is a bit high, but if they nab more games, and advertise more, well hehe, price isnt the question

That is what i meant but couldn't be bothered correcting. Nintendo is still the longest running console brand, however.

Nintendo is the company, NOt the game console, PLaystation 2 and 3 are sequels, NINTENDO didnt have any sequels.
