putting music on my PS3

I have done this before via USB and my MP3 player (basically a flash drive), but I thought there was a way to wirelessly connect my PS3 to my PC and share stuff between them. Is this true, and if so how do I do it? Thanks for the help guys!

I can do it on my Sony Vaio but I can't do it on my desktop (HP). I'm not entirely sure but I always thought only Vaios can connect to a PS3.
