Question about downloading demos.

If i set my PS3 on stand-by while downloading a demo, will it still download?

and is there a way my PS3 can shut off after downloading the demos?

When you're downloading something and you perform the download in the background ..

Then head to the user part of the XMB (very left) and at the top you'll see Turn off System .. click that and it will give you the option for it to turn itself off when the download is complete .. I use this all the time ..
