I plan to get FF8 and 9 to play them on my PS3. So i checked that sony support site, and it said that it has some minor errors, but i didn't understand them, so i guess i want to know if any of you guys played these titles so you can tell me if i can get them with no worries?

I haven't tried them myself yet but it says FF9 is fine other than that FF8 sounds like it just has visual problems on the swirly battle loading screen.....might not look nice on the loading screen but should still play fine

I will check out 8 right now for ya might take a little while it gets cutscene happy right at the start

There are NO PROBLEMS when running old Final Fantasy games on the 60 GB model with Emotion Engine. The compatibility site is for those systems that use software emulation. I am looking to eventually go back and play Final Fantasy IX since I missed out. IF they decide to make it available for download on PSN, I will definitely buy it so that I can play it on my PSP.

To the best of my knowledge those issues aren't a problem anymore, I think update 1.5 fixed them though I could be wrong.

Normally it just looks a little more filled in and smoother when going from the world map to a fight you can see its a little screwed up but it seems the problem is only on those screens and its nothing to terrible. Other than that the game looks fine

Ignore the FREEZE word

Here is what they should look like still on the PS3 but in areas where the fight isn't started from the world map like dungeons

whoa that doesn't look so good alpharedwolf... but since you said it plays fine besides the load screen issue. And you have the regular 60gb version right? the one with the EE
