I don't have a tv capable of 1080p, but it is capable of 1080i. Can PS3 games run in 1080i or will theyy run in 720p instead?

If you're cosidering running a game in 1080i, like Resistance, for example. Just run it in 720p. Fast paced games tend to look better in 720 then 1080...I used to know why, so just beleive me arbitrarily.

The PS3 can't upscale anyway. So, you'd have to play Resistance in 720p since that is what it is rendered in. A game like flOw you could play in 1080i since the game is rendered in 1080p.

Some games run up to 1080p, some only p to 720p.

It depends on what game u r playing. Most games tend 2 look the best at 720p because it is better for fast paced games and have more verticle lines for more pixels. But for the best picture u gotta go wit the 1080p

The games that are capable of running at 1080p (which is usually marked on the box or the download site) will run at 1080i. Most others are, and will run at 720p, unless you television doesn't have 720p (some older ones don't), then it'll drop down to 480. At this point in time, the PS3 can't upscale games to 1080 from 720p, yet. P.S I went it the Insignia website to find the native resolution for your model, but your model isn't listed there.
