Ok, I'm just wondering if I use a HDMI to DVI cord to hook up to a PC moniter, does that mean I won't be able to get any sound?

Yes. You need to use optical out (or analog but use optical)

I knew that DVI doesn't carry sound. If you read my first post, it established the fact I knew that DVI only carries a video signal.
I never thought of using the optical out to connect my audio. I never used it with anything else and forgot about it completly.
