Question about jrpg

My advice is to try Final Fantasy 12 if you have a PS2 available. This should get you immediatly hooked on jrpg's.

Valkyria Chronicles is the best, but Resonance of Fate and Eternal Sonata should be given another chance. Those games are fantastic.

I like JRPG's and been playing them for quite a while now, and even I got bored with Resonance of Fate quickly. Final Fantasy is great, and Final Fantasy XIII especially is very new user friendly. Valkyria Chronicles can be difficult sometimes as it's a mix between RPG and strategy, often I find myself retrying the battle many times. White Knight Chronicles is another option, however I suggest you wait for White Knight Chronicles 2 as it comes with 1 as well.

Played the Valkyria Chronicles demo and was bored out of my mind. The art style is fantastic. But the gameplay is something I would prefer on a handheld console. Kinda like Fire Emblem or Advanced Wars. FF13 is a gorgeous game with an extremely linear world, some annoying characters, plenty of loot, and some good boss fights.

Why did you get bored with RoF? Was it because the story lacked focus and direction, or because you were doing the same thing over and over again?

I think Valkyria Chronicles is excellent, particularly the gameplay. It's a fresh SRPG. Many of my friends who dislike SRPGs enjoyed VC, because thee gameplay was very different from ordinary SRPGs. Anyways, mostly every mission in VC is unique, each with their own situations and mid-battle twist. I didn't think the story was good however, but it's not bad like SO4, imo. The game does start off slow though.

You should try out Star Ocean The Last Hope, i've started playing it again and tbh it's actually a solid JRPG.

The demo was so bad :(. I also tried it and hated it, but a year later i checked out GameTrailers review and ended up picking up the game which i loved!

yeah id say ff13 as far as jrpgs go. there honestly isn't a lot of good jrpgs this gen its kinda dissapointing.
