I got a PS3 2nd shipment in November, and I ended up taking it back because of a few problems. I got an Xbox 360 on boxing day to hold me over until Playstation got everything fixed. Are most of the launch bugs and glitches out of the way now? Would it be safe to go out and buy one now?
The only glitches I know of are rampant in Call of Duty 3 because it was coded very poorly. It tends to freeze w/ corrupted saves. I have only freezed twice in resistance, once because of a dirty disc, the other time because I lost internet connection during a match online. Unless you are getting some really horrid glitch, I don't know what all the glitch/problem fuss was about w/ the system. The only hardcore problem I know of is that with some westinghouse TVs not properly syncing the signal.
the failure rate of the ps3 has been much lower than even sony expected, if you were one of the unlucky few i suggest just going out and get another. i've had no problems with mine since last november. of course i'm a audio/video nut and probobly take alot more care for my things than most.
I have both and the PS3 has no freezing or other glitches so far. Only thing is bluetooth interference but I think thats my apt area.Â
I think as of last nov/oct the 360 switched its dvd drive brand so it is much quieter and, hopefully, more reliable. I got a launch 360 and had one die on me, and the one I got to replace works ok but once and while it'll just say the disc tray is opening when the disc is inside and ready to play.Â
Hardware reliability advantage would have to go to PS3 so far IMO.
There weren't really any widespread "launch bugs." Obviously, not every console can be glitch free. Still, I got mine on launch day and haven't had any problems.
i own a 360 and it is terrible with crashing ect does it all the time, i have to take it back at the weekend as it gets stuck before the dashboard, thank god im getting ps3 on 23rd march :D
I bought mine in january, so far it works great, but I don't play it often due to lack of games!manolobrown2
well if we're getting specific, then..... Got mine on launch day, I play it everyday because I have quite a few games that i have a lot of fun playing. Haven't had any problems with it.
